HIV and its relationship with AIDS.

in ecoTrain3 years ago

So i am one of those people who used to believe that truly HIV causes AIDS and that when HIV is not treated effectively then it will turn to AIDS and kill the person.. ,well you cannot blame me ,that was what medical research confirmed during those years back and the media also helped promote those medical facts at that time , But you know medical research keeps progressing and new discoveries will continue to be made and those new discoveries might counter previous beliefs and researches..

For decades, we were made to believe that the HIV do progress to AIDS and it occurs in a straightforward manner which involves it spreading through the human body as the free-circulating virus, it then attaches itself to the immune cells of the body which is predominately the CD4+ T-cells..it is then able to hijack their genetic system which enables it to create the multiple copies of itself... By doing so, the HIV is then truly able to disseminate itself throughout the entire system of a human, thereby it expands in numbers until there are enough T-cells which are killed and that will compromise the immune system of the person which is referred to as the AIDS itself..

But there are now Emerging research which have suggested that this is not truly the case the way it is presumed..Scientists have begin to realize that the HIV itself can also spread directly from the cell to cell and there is no need to create a free-circulating virus before the spread can occur.

While trying to combat HIV and preventing HIV from causing further damage to the immune system of a person, the anti-retroviral therapy came into existence..

The Antiretroviral therapy can be referred to an effective method to treat HIV, it involves the effective use of anti-retroviral drugs which is prescribed for the treatment of the HIV..

The Antiretroviral therapy is said to have some positive effects on treating the HIV..

Some of the positive effects includes..

1...It stops the virus from multiplying in the human blood . , it helps to reduce the viral load in the body..

Viral load is used to refer to as the number of HIV copies which is present in the blood of a person..

2..Anti-retroviral therapy is able to increase the number of the
CD4 cells in the body of a person , the CD4 cells are those immune cells which is always the target of the HIV, the HIV targets the immune system and tries to destroy it..

3..Anti-retroviral therapy can help a person to prevent the development of the stage 3 HIV, or be able to prevent the AIDS..

4...Anti-retroviral therapy helps to
Increase the survival rates by effectively treating the HIV.

5.. 4...Anti-retroviral therapy will make it possible for a person to be able keep the virus counts low in their blood..

Though there are also some various conspiracy theories that believe that the use of Anti-retroviral drugs does more harm than good and such theories believe that the HIV itself does not lead to AIDS , they believe it is the anti-retroviral itself that contains side-effects which is deadly and they believe it is the drugs itself that causes death in those HIV victims who died..

Though currently there are various studies working on the confirmation if those theories are true or not...

And yes anti-retoviral drugs do have their side-effects and that is why a person need to consult a doctor before taking any anti-retroviral drugs..
