I have mentioned it more than I would like to that I am not the biggest fan of grey skies and drizzle rain. The last two weeks here in the Netherlands have been more than the contrary and it is reflecting on my vibe. Life is good and the vibe outside is that as well.
I guess these last two weeks are my most favourite throughout the whole year. Skies are blue and every day nature is evolving a step further towards full summer mode.
Don't you just love it when trees are starting to look like this?
And it is funny with the pace this is all growing in. Literally two weeks ago there weren't even bulbs to see, a couple of days later the first couple of leaves were spotted and boooom.....A week later this is a full blown tree which it will remain to be for the upcoming months
More walks!!
For me this is also a great reason to head out outside and walk around to see what is changing. And also every house and every garden is changing by the day.
Gardens which had big blossom everywhere last week, now all of a sudden all the blossom is gone and replaced by fresh green leaves which are still young and fragile.
The woods look fantastic at the moment. Where previous year the Netherlands was cursed with torrential rains for months which left the soil poorly drained and a lot of trees in a gnarly situation. This year is different.
This year almost feels to dry and finally there is a moment where the ground water has a chance to sink in for a bit again. It was well needed as up until a couple weeks ago I could still see the signs of high ground water everywhere.
That is the case when you live in a country below sea level right? Water isn't always your friend then!
But now it is fantastic. The frost seems to be gone for the season (hopefully that is...the general rule here is that frosty can still drop by until the 16th of May) and that means that also all of the fruit trees hopefully will be doing goos business.
At least the stuff that I have planted outside is doing great with all of this daylight and good temperatures. These are the weeks to enjoy to the fullest as it feels that everything is coming back to life again.
