I newly came across this great community in the morning when I was checking different communities out on Hive to know where I can be posting my different articles, am very happy I was able to locate ecotrain. I came across this qotw on spirituality and I think it will be a great idea to give it a try.
Spirituality to me means the personal relationship I have with a spiritual being it can be God, gods or anything whatsoever that I believe has a greater power than me and am willing to accept that fact and even want to possess such power the spiritual being possess. it is different from religion that has to do with worshipping a spiritual being and following the laid down laws of others on how to worship him. When it has to do with spirituality my personal encounter with him matter and each person encounter may be different although it can be sometimes similar.
Spirituality cannot be measured 100% with how I look although it has a little impact on how I dress unlike religion that affect my dressing 100%.
To be spiritual to me required a lot of effort, commitment and determination. It is deeper than worshipping, my spirituality is not supposed to affect how I behave towards others and it does not cause war or quarrel or affect other people spirituality.
My spiritual life growth will depend on my commitment, zeal and relationship with the one I believe in, the more I relate with him the more I grow spiritually. Spirituality is not like our human body that once it grow will remain like that but can be liken to friendship, the more we are in contact with our friend, the more our relationship grow but once we stop talking with each other we will just noticed that the friendship has fade away so also is spirituality it need constant maintenance if not it will just fade away.
To me spirituality has an impact on my relationship with others in the sense that there are some act i cannot engaged in with the believe that it can affect my relationship with my master (the spiritual being I believe in). it also affect my value because the more I fellowship with him I tend to start placing more value on the things he also placed value on.
Spirituality also define my life purpose, at some point in my life i started thinking of what I am going to become in life and at that stage of seeking I ask and enquiry from my master (the spiritual being i believe in) what he want me to do for him on Earth or what I am going to do to become relevant on Earth.
This is what spirituality means to me.
