Distraction is obvious. We have a curious mind and it goes here and there. Even if you are sitting still, your mind is racing and taking you back & forth. Keeping mental focus in all this distraction is really challenging.
But we all know if we are not focused on, how our life would be. Let me share with you some of this I found really helpful for me. I guess it will work well for anyone.
Bring your mind to present before you start doing something. This is the thumb rule, I believe. Don't just start doing your homework or attend a meeting. Access your focus and then go for it.
Eliminate distraction as much as you can. It's not always possible to do that. Like you can't cut off your co-worker from your site. But try to find alternatives.
Knowing our triggers can be a good strategy. Like if your phone is your trigger then stay away from it before you start doing something important or going to the bed.
Practice bringing back your mind by 'pausing' and 'rethinking. In a busy meeting or sitting alone, don't just let your brain wondering around for very long. Pause, think what you are actually thinking, bring back your mind to the present moment.
And when we talk about bringing back our mind to the present, I can't resist talking about the great benefits of mindfulness. There's no way we can practice mental focus without being mindful.
When you practice mindfulness- being present in the current moment, you teach yourself to focus on what is happening around and in your mind too. That's when you can access full mental focus.
This will not easy but if anyone can keep practicing these techniques, I believe this will help to improve their life!
The mindfulness isn't always easy for me when I try to practice it. I still find myself wallowing in other thoughts instead of focusing on a particular thing. I might keep practicing it but should be aware of distraction around me. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing I believe the impact will be needful and helpful in eradicating distraction and also have a stable mindset before taking actions.
Wow am bless by this, distraction is like a plague that hinders from achieving or attaining greater heights.
And until we learn how to live above it, we'll continually revolve around the same territory and stagnant.
Thanks for sharing this Masterpiece with us.
