It's unthinkable that you had to go through this and to hear the system works similar there as it does in America. These heartless institutions tend to cause as much, if not more trauma than the assault.
It takes courage to put this out there in the public sphere and I could tell from your first article on Hive you are a survivor, not a victim. The culture is changing, but those changes, unfortunately will not come soon enough.
Sometimes who we least think is going through a similar situation, that has prompted me to talk about it, each time with less taboo in my words, with us the change begins, I am a survivor, but sometimes I prefer to say that I am just wiser.
Before, I only asked myself why I? Now I know that I chose all this to learn and now perhaps to help others.
Touching souls is what I do now, and without that experience, I would not have arrived here.
