GROW UP: IT'S GROWTH O'CLOCK

in ecoTrain3 years ago

The word 'Growth' is not new. You've learned of its concept but you probably understood it not. Read through the dialogue below as it
intends to shed light on your understanding.
SOURCE
YOU: Hey! You have changed. You no longer talk or play with us, and you no longer do the things you use to do before. Why❓
ME: I grew up and I am still growing.
YOU: (Puzzled😩😩)
What's that supposed to mean❓
ME: Well, it means there's a point when you should stop going on joyrides and start thinking about (as well as working towards)
living up to your potentials.
YOU: Hmmm.🤔🤔🤔
That makes a lot of sense. I mean, I should have realized this too. But then, I have a lot of things holding me from doing the things you do so that I can become like you. I'm inspired and really wanna be like you.
ME: First things first, you can not be like me and will not be like me.
YOU: (fumes 😡😡😡)
Are you swearing for me? Saying that I can't make it?
ME: Hey friend, relax!
I didn't say that. Here's what I mean. You can't be like me because
my purpose is different from yours and the Bible teaches that every man abides in the same calling wherein he was called.

Your potentials are different from mine and all these accounts for your uniqueness. I mean, "there has never, can never, and will never be a better version of you. You just have to believe in yourself." What
Making me unique is different from what makes me unique.
SOURCE
YOU: I just have to believe in myself and that's all?
ME: That's not all. There's plenty of work to do and it's all a matter of choice. You have to choose (decide) to GROW UP intentionally and should be consistent with it. You see, Apostle Paul said "when I was a child, 1 spake as a child, 1 understood as a child, 1 thought as a child: but when I became a man, 1 put away childish things.

You become a man the moment you put
away from all childish things.
When that choice is made, then you have to figure out what your God-given purpose is. This will give you a sense of direction, remind you of what you live for and you'll focus your life, energy, resources, and time on ensuring that you fulfill your purpose.
SOURCE
Now, you've got to learn, unlearn and relearn. Alvin Toffler once said that "the illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn and to learn." You've got to acquire the right knowledge, and skills (and develop these skills for productivity and profitability).

Now this is important

  • Don't just read anything. Read what's important and what contributes to your growth as an individual.
  • Learn highly relevant skills.
  • Build good habits and learn good values. They'll help you sustain valuable relationships.
  • Build relationships with people. - - Associate with like-minded people and people who have walked the path you intend to walk. But then, another ingredient to sustaining them is to be valuable to them.
Become valuable by giving out VALUE.
Give and it shall be given unto you.
