Honouring Myself - My Relationship With Nature ( EcoTrain Question Of The Week)

in ecoTrain3 years ago (edited)

I awaken each morning, to the sound of birdsong. I take a few minutes to bask in their morning chorus, before I rise from my bed and venture outside. Then I open my door, to the view of the Lujar, the mountain that sits opposite to where I live. Sometimes she is clothed in clouds, as though she is wearing a skirt, other times she is glistening in green, after a glorious rainfall. Each day, the view of her, brings me so much joy.

I take a few more steps, until my bare feet touch the earth. I pause to stretch my arms out, my greeting to the world, as I focus on my breathing, allowing my body to reconnect with nature, imaging roots extending from my feet, deep into the earth.

After a few moments, I take a walk behind the caravan and i am greeted by a carpet of lush green grass and wild flowers, which are dispersed between the olive and fig trees. This is how I start my day, earthing myself and immersing myself in my surroundings.

This week, the wonderful EcoTrain community want to know about our favourite nature experiences.

I live off grid, surrounded by nature, because this is one of the best ways in which I can truly honour myself and my girls. I yearn to live a natural lifestyle, to be in sync with the seasons, allowing nature to guide me, as I become more intune with myself.

Living in nature, is what inspires me to be creative. It is what empowers me and strengthens me. Everyday as walk the land and tend to my garden, I feel so at ease. Collecting edible and medicinal plants, greeting the trees and feeling at one with my surroundings.

Nature has such a huge capacity to self heal, to regenerate and to grow and so do we. Being in nature, gives us that wonderful opportunity to experience that, especially when we open ourselves up to her. Rediscovering that connection, brings us closer to understanding ourselves, as we engage with ourselves on a more deeper level.

Nature is healing, the sounds, the sights, the scents. They stimulate us and speak to us, we only have to take the time to remember her unique language and open ourselves up to engage with her.

I choose to use the term her for nature, because to me, nature is the giver and nurturer of life.

I see myself as being, very much a part of nature, as I strive to be of service to her, to live more in harmony with her. Since I was a child, I have always felt more at home outdoors, nature was my safe space. It was the trees I seeked out, when I felt scared and unsafe. And they were always ready to receive me.

I never lost that bond, even when I went through some of my darkest moments, nature, was always the light I would return to. Because of that, I never felt alone, I felt the interconnected web of all things. Feeding my creativity and encouraging me to celebrate this wonderful life cycle that we are all a part of.

I welcome the abundance that flows, when you connect with the fertile force of nature, when you trust in the natural flow of things and open yourself up to receive. This cycle of giving and receiving, of being an active part of this beautiful natural cycle of life.

As everything in nature changes, so must we, becoming more aware and more adaptable. Change is something to embrace and celebrate, something nature is constantly reminding us about.

As I think about all of my nature experiences, about the many wild and beautiful places I have travelled to, around the world. I realise that most important one to me, is not a place I visited, but instead it is about my relationship with nature. How it has grown, how I have grown and how much my life has been so enriched.

I am nature and nature is me!

Yes, we ARE nature. You are a true childl of nature as you express gratitude all the time for it, showing how much attention you pay her, and how you live in her service. If only we all did this.

Thank you beautiful, as are you xxxx

The connection with nature is priceless, one of the Blessing we enjoy each day, and just like you, I derived energy and zeal to better from nature each time I'm feeling down or so, once I step out and gaze at the beauty of nature around me, and the breeze that swift through me refresh and renew my every being.
