Arson has been ruled out. The fire chief and TBI (Tennessee Bureau of Investigation) have determined it to be a faulty outlet in the closet in my office where several things were plugged in. The insurance people have us making lists of everything in the house and that is depressing as fuck going from room to room trying to remember everything that was in there. All cats accounted for! Found and buried the other 2 guinea pigs. Trying to salvage the plants that were in the house. Gave them some major TLC yesterday. Arranging utilities for the temporary condo we got from one of the doctors. Have to meet with the insurance people in the morning at the house. Big dog - Maddux - is ok at his new place and is allowed in the house. Little dog - Zoey - will be back with us this weekend at the condo, but Maddux too big for it. The two younger princesses are holding up ok and are surprisingly optimistic about the situation. Luna is real torn up over Wenzday and the Guineas. The garage is about 95% in tact - the roof has buckled a little, but everything in there is unscathed by any flames or severe smoke. Does smell in there though. Between the fire, smoke, heat and continuing water damage from the firefighters (not complaining), the house is pile of sludgy slop.
