This was my question as well. Stopping to gas up takes minutes but would you have to stop for an hour to charge?

After 300 km - on holidays- you have to stop half an hour in which you take a piss and buy a coffee and stretch the legs. In Europe we commute normally an hour max so you charge to 100% at home during the night and no time is lost.
The famous French tollways are so busy in July August and both fillin up with gas or fast loading energy can cost an hour. Now in June both are fine.
