SUMMONER: LIR DEEPSWIMMER
This summoner is a fantastic pick given the rules and available mana, as he has two more shields, return fire to all monsters, plus the ability to blind the enemy's monsters. While the majority of players might go for the Light summoner with return fire, I decided to employ Lir Deepswimmer in this match because I knew my opponent would do the same.
Abilities:
Plus two Shields to all monsters
Return Fire: When hit with a Ranged attack, Monsters with Return Fire will return reduced damage back to their attacker, damage returned is equal to the damage of the attacker divided by 2, rounded up.
Blind: All enemy Melee & Ranged attacks have an increased chance of missing their target.
Front Monster: DRYBONE RAIDER
With one range attack, two melee attacks, two speeds, three shields, and seven health, this legendary Soulbound card is a beast. When combined with the double strike ability, it will undoubtedly inflict misery on the opposing team's front-line monster during this game.
Ability: Double Strike - Monster attacks twice each round.
Second Monster: GRENADIER
Given that it has two range attacks, two speeds, two health, and an ability called Oppress that only costs three mana, this dice card is one of my favorite ranged cards.
Ability: Oppress - Does double damage when attacking an enemy that has no attacks.
Third Monster: AXEMASTER
Given that it has two range attacks, four-speed, six health, and a double strike that will provide your line-up explosive damage to the enemy's monsters, Axemaster is one of the essential cards for this rule.
Ability: Double Strike - Monster attacks twice each round.
Fourth Monster: SWAMP SPITTER
This Soulbound card is one of my favorites for the water element because it gives your monsters a repair shield, has two ranged attacks, three speeds, two shields, and five life, all of which will help your line-up deal with sustained damage and defense.
Ability: Repair - Restores some armor to the friendly Monster whose armor has taken the most damage.
Fifth Monster: COASTAL NYMPH
Having this Riftwatcher card is a must if you want to deal huge damage to your enemy's back lane monsters. Has three range damage, three speeds, three shields, seven health, and a Scattershot ability that will surely give your line-up great damage.
Ability: Scattershot - This monster's attacks hit a random enemy target
Sixth Monster: WAVE BROOD
Wave Brood will surely provide you great support for this kind of situation, given that it has one range damage, one speed, thirteen health, Taunt, and Close Range.
Abilities:
Taunt: All enemy Monsters target this Monster (if they are able to).
Close Range: Can perform ranged attacks from the first position.
The Battle
Round One
I knew it would not be an easy match for my line-up when I saw my opponent's lineup; seeing those high-damage dealers made me wonder if my Wave Brood would survive to the following round.
Round Two
Both of our Wave Broods perished in this round and used the Born Again rules. Since my front monster barely has two health remaining before round two is through, I am a little worried about it.
Round Three
My cards had the chance to reduce the health of my opponent's front monster because, at the start of this round, my opponent's Wave Brood died first. Before ending this round, my front monster died and used Born Again, lucky it has three default shields plus two from the summoner which gave a chance to enter the next round.
Round Four
In this round, my team managed to take down my opponent's front monster. I am lucky that it happened since his Poseidon won't have a chance to attack anymore, four range damage is so scary.
Round Five
Round five for me is the decision round since most of the monsters used their Born Again ability.
Round Six
Since the Swamp Spitter is the only damage dealer left in my opponent's lineup in this round, I am confident that I will prevail. Double strike is a must-have in your lineup, but you also need to take the rules into consideration.
Round Seven to Ten
Round seven to ten is more on domination from my line up, given the fact that the only damage dealer from my opponent's team is the Swamp Spitter, THE VICTORY IS MINE. I am grateful to my opponent in this match since this player is one of the best players I know in the Splinterlands community, been matched up with him with some of the tournaments I joined and he literally dominates the match. I am a bit lucky in this round and I am proud that I won the match.
If you have an understanding of what your adversary might choose to do throughout the war, you can make a better plan. Though it won't ensure victory, better preparation regarding which summoner to utilize and which monsters to select can give you a chance. Simply put, I anticipated the circumstance better in this case, so I get to keep the trophy. Planning ahead is essential, so make sure to do so.
There goes my entry for this week. Hope you liked it. Thank you once again for visiting…Till next time. Stay safe always...and have fun battling.
