My first Amigurumi! Octopus baby

in Ladies of Hive2 years ago (edited)

A magical sweet baby octopus!!! I’m such a proud mommy, lol.

I used Sweet Softies’s YouTube tutorial. I had to start with a magic circle instead, I kept having extra loops with her start. And my finish isn’t the cleanest, but the puckering is underneath so you can’t see it.

For the next one, I need to move the first leg’s second stitch over 1 stitch, instead of following directions - too much space between leg 1 and 8. But other than those adaptations, this was a perfect pattern for my first amigurumi!!!

Wow I can’t believe it, from first hooking to stuffed animal toy within 4 days!!! I’ve got work this week, but next week I’ll definitely do more crochet!

This took 2 hours. Barely any yarn in blue and a tiny bit of black for the eyes (knots cause my plastic eyes haven’t arrived yet, and might be too big anyways). And no, that’s not a nose, that’s just the black yarn peeking through from behind the hole. LOL

So, what do you think? How’s she look?
