I just took an online class with Michael’s, taught by Liquitex! I used a palette knife, 2 paint brushes (round and 1 inch flat), and acrylic paint (not from Liquitex). I also found a nice little (well, 6 by 8) denim canvas from a few years ago.
Challenges: well, the denim wasn’t primed. So it used up nearly all my white to paint the light blue sky. Also, I totally pulled the green and sepia too far down, hence the bush breaking up the tree line. Though, I don’t think I mind the bush. It’s cute. Happy little bush, lol.
I’m proud of: using a palette knife for the first time. I figured out that scraping can take paint off. And once dry, I plan to enjoy running my fingers across the texture.
Do you see this texture? So cool! The little marks are to suggest brushes, done via palette knife at the end. The video of the class is actually going to be on the Michael’s website, if you want to make one too.
Thanks Michael’s and Liquitex for the class! It was a blast!
Looks Like You're Getting better and keep polishing your skills.
Online classes are quite a great way to learn. Well, wish you best of luck and looking forward to see more of you!
Thanks!
Nice! I didn't know that Michael's offered things like this online! Guess I need to get out more, lol! Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day!
Yeah, they’re really cool!
😎👍
That's famazing! It's nice that you are able to apply what you learn online.
I was pretty good at textured painting at High School but never really followed through with it. Great to see others develop their talents.

Ahh, painting with acrylic is fun! Whenever I see one, I always want to come close and look at each stroke.
Now I miss painting!
