Hello everyone :) yesterday I went spontaneously to an open air concert in Cologne of the Grüngürtelrosen. This is a men's choir with over 70 members, where the only requirement is to have fun singing 😂🙌🏼 They meet once a week for rehearsals and occasionally give free window concerts in one of the most famous breweries in Cologne, the Gaffel am Dom, right next to Cologne Cathedral. There were so many people there even though it was really cold, that didn't stop anyone from singing along. The Grüngürtelrosen sang mashups of many famous songs and in between also Cologne songs, which are mainly sung during the Cologne carnival. It was really such a nice experience and my friend and I were lucky to get good seats and had a great view. Everyone sang and danced along and it was really great fun and we'll definitely be back at the next concert in the spring! Before that, we went to the Christmas market right next to Cologne Cathedral and had some mulled wine and hot chocolate. A singer there also sang beautiful Christmas carols and the atmosphere was really nice. I also overheard Spanish and Greek conversations at the table to us, I think they were Erasmus students and I would have loved to talk to them, but unfortunately I'm always too shy for that kind of thing. But it would be really cool to make friends all over the world. They definitely enjoyed Cologne and the Christmas market at the cathedral. The only thing they can't get used to is the cold, but I can't either, even though I'm from Germany 🥲☃️❄️
