Along with cramped up activities at the campus, this would be one of the rarest times that I could do all of this in a day. It was supposed to be another usual Saturday cram, where we will have a whole day class without vacant hours for break time or lunch. As per requirements for our one subject, we were tasked to watch a movie at the Cinema and submit a reaction paper about it.
It was a fine morning but the heat index was already scorching. I just took a bath few minutes ago from home but I was already sweaty before I reached the entrance. Usually, the mall opens at 10 am but since the school collaborated with them for this activity, they let us in before 8 am.
In the previous activities like this, the Student Council organized this by Departments, but now, whoever came first could watch first. So, we ventured inside to find a good spot to watch and some of our friends that's on the way there could easily spot us.
We found seats near the stairs at the right wing. The best spot we could find at that moment since we liked it not too far from the exit and not to see many heads of people than the movie itself. The movie was about the Nun who eventually became Saint of the Immigrants whose name is Francesca Cabrini. I have written a review about her on my previous post actually, just swing by on that blog if you want to know a little sneak peak of that movie.
After the movie, the rest of our Instructors in my afternoon class messaged our group chats that since we had an off-campus activity, they would not have a class with our section anymore. Instead, they have given us an assignment which is another reaction paper from another movie, and gladly, the subject requires only a reaction paper about what we just recently watched.
We decided to unwind from that another overwhelming week and headed to the sea.
It's lowtide!
It would be nice to walk barefoot on the sand and go as far as we could, then relax ourselves with the cool breeze and listen to the waves from afar.
That would be a nice plan but the sun was still up and the heat wasn't bearable enough for us to immerse ourselves. We went to Arthur's Cafe instead, and cool ourselves with their refreshments. But anyway, it's for my friends since I'm into hot drinks.
I was suffering with clogged nose and soar throught for the past few days, so I went first with Ginger Tea. It was soothingly good. I'd like to have more but since this is a cafe, I was more tempted to have coffee in my next cup.
And there, in a snap, without hesitation, I gave in to the temptation. What can I do? It's coffee, may favorite drink. 😄
We stayed there until the others came and finished their drinks and snacks. Then, we parted ways when it was already 4pm. We couldn't stay longer since we still have loads of school works to do and study.
This is one of the moments that I would be missing when I would be a working student. I don't know when can I relax like this in the future but I hope I could find time to do that even with a busy schedule and a struggling life-work-school balance. Anyway, God bless our future endeavors.
