Digital sketch of 3 jumping French Bulldogs!!!

I was sent a picture from a friend of his 3 Frenchies playing. The photo is an awesome action shot!

He had seen my latest sketches and wanted me to try and sketch this picture for him, perhaps even to use as Xmas cards later in the year? Who knows!

Anyway, I said that I would give it a go. Here are the steps…

The original photo

I started outlining the pooches first…

I decided to draw the first 2 dogs first as they were easier as they weren’t solid black! (Remember I am new to this) once I had finished the first 2 dogs, I blocked out a black silhouette for the 3rd dog…

The original photo didn’t give me many details to follow and I can’t draw from imagination as such, I use reference photos. So I asked my friend for a clearer picture of the black dog. This is what he sent me…

I changed the layout of the picture and used the 2nd photo for the 3rd dog in the drawing as she was still jumping, but perhaps not in the exact stance as she was before, but I felt that it worked…

And from this, the final sketch was complete!
