I agree with talking about the way one feels with a trusted friend. Voicing out how we feel inside is therapeutic and can liven our mood once we are done. It is bottling up our feelings that strengthen those emotions, fuelling it to become more than what it is supposed to be .

Challenging negative thoughts as they arise is also another mental exercise that helps a lot.
