What was your position (in terms of birth) in the family? How did that experience help you become, or hinder you from becoming, a successful adult?

When I was still a child,I don't believe that as the first born you have a lot of responsibilities to take care of. I have uncles and aunties who has reassure me that I should ask anything at anytime that they will answer me when I call. Even my parents is not an exception, my dad actually cherish me and always give me what I want whenever I cry for that thing. I'm the first born, and I have three siblings but I'm being treated like the last born of the house, and to me then I don't need to think or look for something because I know I will always get it.
When I start becoming an adult, I decided to bill my uncles more this time, but this time they failed to answer my request. Everything they tell me now is that they have families and children to carter for. Since when most of them have gotten married and give birth to their child, they no have time to listen to mine again. And this has make me feel bad and this is when I also find out that I have to be dependent and I don't have to rely on anyone. It's also got to a time, that my own parents could no longer give me all what I want since they also have a lot of things to settle.
Being the first born and also the bread winner, I have learnt to be a successful adult that I shouldn't depend on my parents or even uncles or aunties because I also got siblings who are also looking up to me. It is this period I realize that I've got a lot of responsibilities and things to take care of. I no longer call to ask for something from my uncles because then I always disturb until they give me what I want but now they also call and also send me money even without me asking.

Hello @blezedoh. It was with interest I read your childhood situation as being a bit different from others. You were the first born, but were treated with everything you asked and had an easier time of it without a huge burden of responsibilities.
Then, when you became an adult, you realized you needed to be responsible. At some point, all family members have to take care of their immediate families. There's usually little left over to hand off to others.
But then when you stopped asking...look what happened!
