Anna Comes to Visit - Part 2: Dinner at Ons Huisie

Friday night was bittersweet for us as we experienced the most beautiful night out and were spoiled with the most incredible food, but it was also the last time we'd see Anna before she headed back to the UK on Sunday.

I got myself into such a frenzy getting dressed that I almost forgot I was supposed to be having fun! It was so hot in my bedroom that the makeup on my face kept melting off!! I was also sweating so much that after blow-drying my hair, I couldn't straighten it as it kept getting wet. The humidity in my room was insane.

As soon as I got downstairs though, I felt instantly better as the temperature was much cooler downstairs with lovely breeze.

I also had Anna and her Mom waiting downstairs for me with gifts and hugs!! Who could be miserable when you're being given wonderful chocolates and wine!

I also felt better in the car where I used the aircon to dry my hair! 🤣🤣🤣

We picked a very popular restaurant in Table View, on the beachfront. Ons Huisie is rustic and has been running out of an old Dutch house that has been renovated over the many many years it has been operating, but much of the 100 year old structure is still there and is a functional part of the restaurant.

We were very very lucky to get a table outside! There is definitely a mad rush for tables outside around sunset as the view across the small secluded bay is just phenomenal.

The boys took the opportunity to swim as much as they could before our food arrived. By the time they finally got out of the water it was almost dark and they were freezing!

They warmed up in no time as we were treated to an array of absolutely delicious food. We started out with a plate if twelve oysters as a starter, and then moved on to mains. Anna, her mother and I had calamari and prawns, @zakludick and @matthew-williams had Eisbein and I don't think his eyes have ever been that big! Meren had a rack of BBQ ribs and there was a lot of swopping and sharing between all of us!

We had cupcakes at our house before we left, but honestly, no one had space for dessert by the time we left!

When it came time to say good bye, there were some big tears but even bigger hugs. Lets hope we get to see Anna again very soon. It was very special to spend as much time as we did with her.

When it's time to say goodbye... do so with a bit of a bang! ❤️

And so we did <3 Champagne and all. Although I will miss her physically being here, at least I can look forward to our 4 hour whatsapp calls ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much, and I have voted :)
