I simply remember my favourite things and then I don't feel so bad? That could because I'm high AF at the time.
The profile pic in this post is me ironically trying to pose in my pajamas with a brace. Right on trend right? For like an old lady magazine or one of those "you can do it orthopedic" posts.
I do consider myself an old lady and although most people scoff at that because I am only 39.
So let's have a look at my favorite things, without which, I would need to strangle someone. If only I was fast enough 😂
At number 1, @zakludick is definitely my main source of sanity. his constant care and compassion have really gone a long way.
at number two are my insanely stupid cats, who I love with all my heart. Even though their litter box really stinks 🤢
At number three is my brace, without which, I cannot walk. This brace is supplied and periodically is supplied by the government for free - which extremely lucky. I have been needing to wear them on both knees lately - after ironically tripping over my gym bag- so it's great that I have spares!
At number 4 is my back and neck support pillow that actually hugs me back! It is too cute and causes immediate sleepiness. Thanks mum!
At number 5 is my shoe box of wonders which I will take you through one by one.
At number 6 is My Deep Relief cream. This is a gel that contains ibuprofen and is absorbed directly through the skin. It also contains menthol which causes a soothing and cooling effect. I do have to warn you to wash your hands thoroughly immediately after use! You don't want this in your eyes!
At number 7 is my new medication that has changed my life. It targets nerve pain and fights depression and anxiety.
At number 8 are my Tramoltra Forte's. These are also pain meds that target my knee pain. They contain tramadol and paracetamol.
At number 9 are Panamore/ voltaren suppositories. Never in my life did I realize I'd be so excited about tablets that go up "the other" end. They're equally as effective as the injection, which I have no idea or desire how to administer!
at number 10 are my actual anti-depressants. They are incredibly expensive but worth every penny as they are the only antidepressants that don't give me serotonin syndrome.
At number 11 are Urbanols. These tablets are part of the benzo-diazepine family but are considered slow-release tablets. They assist with my insomnia and help me fight off panic attacks. They are also an anti-spasmodic which helps with the nerve pain in my back which sends my back pain into spasms.
At number 12 are Genpains which are generic for Myprodols and contain a combination of paracetamol, ibuprofen and codeine.
At number 13 is my crutch, which I hate, but have realized I really need for any amount of prolonged walking.
Ad at last but certainly not least, Number 14 is my alprazolams which fight panic immediately. I have definitely recognized a link between my anxiety and my pain.

Oh my goodness they do not tell you how much your body has to shift around while you are pregnant. Especially in the later stages. Your pelvis bones are to narrow? Let's move your skeletal structure around. Bladder full? Don't worry, your baby will kick everything out 🙄🙄🤣🤣
I am trained in basic Pharmacology, while cannot prescribe anything but I sure could predict or anticipate what a Doctor Might prescribe and I have found the odd prescription error. Personally, cat Therapy does wonders.

I know. I will make sure all my drug data is accurate, unit policy is strictly adhered to, and written in a tactful, professional manner emphasizing on the safety of the patient prior to submitting.
I actually don't have any official medical training, which is why I probably get the awful side-eye from medical practitioners when I go in for an appointment and I've already made a diagnosis and know what meds I need. This comes from having a nursing matron/ sister as a mother and growing up literally in a hospital/long-term/ frail care facility and then working for four years as a medical practice assistant/ office manager. It's no wonder my doctors don't like me from the get-go. They probably think I'm just another Google doctor. It usually gets better after they get to know me better.
You are NOT an old lady yet... but you are MY old lady. 😘
