Ozempic Journey - Week One Results: A Pleasant Surprise!

in Ladies of Hive4 days ago (edited)

Wow. So I had some very unexpected and pleasing results for my first week, especially considering that I'm on a low dose to wean me on. I actually didn't think I'd hit my goals at all.

I also went Christmas shopping on Monday, and it was horrible. I got so frustrated after a store manager was a bit nasty to me and because I'd been on my feet way longer than I'm supposed to be. This resulted in horrific back pain and I've basically been on bed rest since. That means no swimming.

The results don't lie though! I had a total weightloss of 1.9kgs!! Yay!!

My measurements also look incredible. Aside from my boobs, where I actually gained centimeters, lol, but I suspect that is because I'm close to my period.

I also tried something different yesterday. It is advised that you move your injection sites around anyway. But last week I honestly wasn't sure I'd even had an injection because I didn't feel anything. Apparently, my tummy is still numb from my C-section 12 years ago! I wish I could do something like that for my back pain. I've heard of people getting epidurals for that. Jeepers it would be amazing because when it flares up I am incapacitated with pain.

Anyway, this time I gave myself my shot in my upper arm. This also gave me a better look at I definitely felt the needle, not that it was very painful at all, but I did feel it.

So with week one over, I still have 3 more weeks at 0.25 mg and then I move up to 0.5mg in January.

I'm pleased to say I've had zero side effects so far. We will see how that goes as I progress! :)

I'm so excited for you.

Sorry about the pain! I understand as I've lived with pain ever since I was a child. Not fun.

I am interested in how this all works, so please keep posting about it. Thanks for sharing my friend and have a lovely day!

Gosh, I'm sorry to hear that. May I ask what went wrong as a child? I didn't realize until my 30s and during my divorce that I'd been suffering from CPTSD and depression since I was a child. Chronic pain and illness have only affected me for the last 3 years, that being said, it's been a very long 3 years.

My legs always hurt me from a very young age. I often could not get to sleep until my dad would come in and 'karate chop' them. Kind of like lightly striking them with the sides of his hands as some massage therapists do. When I was 21, I had some issues with my knees popping loudly when walking on a hill to mow the lawn. I went to the doc and was told that it was arthritis. My mom had this arthritis thing that she never got treated for, but she had issues as well.

I almost severed my achilles tendon swing dancing with my husband; I tore and put my meniscus of my right knee in places it should never go. My feet are messed up with falling bones and hammer toes. Both of my brothers; one had both and one had one hip replaced at relatively young ages. You get the picture. Anyway, there is not a day that goes by that I'm pain free although some days are better than others.

That's the gist of it; not a lot of fun, but if I'm feeling it, I'm still alive!

I'm sorry you've had the pain you have as I do really understand! Take care and keep me posted on things.🤗💜🎄🎁 !LADY !LUV

oh my gosh lady you have really been through the wars hey. Yep, I know all about popping knees and meniscus tears - one of the many things wrong with my knees.

Early onset arthritis is horrible though. Wishing you love and healing <3

Thank you @clairemobey! You are sweet! I care and am interested how you are doing. Take care and have a lovely day! !LADY🤗🎄🎁💜

Whoa, congrats to that amazing achievement. You are doing really great. Although I don't understand much the process, but congrats ✨😻

I'm going to be posting more videos but basically, how it works is it is the GLP1 hormone. People with obesity and/ or diabetes have been shown to have a deficiency - which actually inhibits them from losing weight. So ozempic is just replacing something in your body that is supposed to be there.

Congratulations to you and more achievements. 🙏

Thank you so much <3
