The other day, my friend @silversaver888 posted an incredibly easy and, might I add, delicious artisan bread recipe. It was delectable looking, very much rustic in nature. I took that recipe and made it today. Oh, my! I served it to my family for dinner, scooping out the inner part and filling it with warm potato soup, liberally topped with cheese and bacon. The inside bread was buttered and enjoyed on the side.
Okay, I will admit it. I made one slight variation in the recipe. I made bread bowls by dividing the recipe into four and putting them in the same pan. It worked like magic.I have one cast iron pot that I use to bake this kind of bread, so the fact that it discolors the bottom can be alarming if you are using a brand new pot, but, to be honest with you, I have long gotten over that. Just like many things, they love to be used!
I ended the night with a dash of "Big Dog" Cabernet Sauvignon from 2009. It was divine. A wonderful way to call it a day. From the pages of Big Dog, I borrowed this: The winery and tasting room opened in 2009, right beside our estate vineyard planted twelve years earlier. For nearly twenty years we have worked to achieve the highest quality possible in every step from grapes to glass, maintaining an emphasis on traditional techniques and small production.

I like making it the way she did too, but, at the last moment, I changed to the bowls. I do love her recipes and try them out when I can. She just made dinner bump up a few notches in the yummy department!

Thank you!! It was pretty warm and tasty, especially with the bread to dip!!! I love that part too. Sometimes I add a small dollop of sour cream on the top. The toppings you can add are endless, but, I need that bread on the side!!!
