I lived, once upon a time, in Gunnison, Colorado. Our living room was at 8000 feet in altitude. It was lovely, but what eventually began to wear on us was that of the 12 months of the year, 9 of them were pretty much winter, or so it seemed!
What you need sis, is a place where you have 4 seasons. Springtime to get ready for summer; summer-not too hot, but not too cool; fall to work your way into cooler temperatures, and then winter-with just a bit of snow, but not super freezing temperatures all winter long. I've not found the PERFECT place for this 4 seasons just yet, but someday, I will.
My hope for you is that where you are, you get some moderation in that temperature and it's more bearable for you.
