Hi, Ladies.
I know I've said this before, but it's true: I love the theme of this 231st contest!
This gives me the opportunity to talk about one of my all-time favorite photos, in which I appear alongside my two favorite people: my children.
This photo was taken in 2017, in the city of Trinidad.
It just so happens that at that time, my children's father was living in Trinidad, while we remained in Las Tunas.
Even though we were divorced, he was always concerned and loving toward our children, telling everyone how beautiful they were, how talented they were, and all the things a proud father can say about his children.
But he was away for many months, and when he talked to the children, he told them what he did with his friends. However, neither the children nor their friends knew the children.
One day, I was invited to the guitar competition in Cienfuegos, a province bordering Sancti Spíritus, so we agreed, and I arranged for us to travel to Trinidad.
And so we did.
That night, the children and the protagonists of their parents' stories met, and they were able to put faces to the names they'd heard so many times.
This photo was taken at the home of an excellent sculptor, Jorge César Saínz, the creator of "El paño de María," a piece on display in the San Francisco de Asís Church in Havana.

The photo was taken by another friend of the children's father, Iran Marrero, a magnificent photographer.
The dark background is nothing more than nighttime, and the lighting is from a normal LED light.
Many have thought it was a studio or staged photo... and nothing could be further from the truth.
It turned out so beautiful because my two children are in it, and we are happy.

Me dan la oportunidad de hablar de una de mis fotos favoritas de todos los tiempos, en la que salgo junto a mis dos personas favoritas: mis hijos.
Esta foto fue tomada en el año 2017, en la ciudad de Trinidad.
Sucede que en aquella época, el padre de mis hijos estaba viviendo en Trinidad, mientras que nosotros nos manteníamos en Las Tunas.
Aunque estuviéramos divorciados, él siempre ha sido preocupado y amoroso con nuestros hijos y les hablaba a todo el mundo de lo bellos que son, de su talento y de todo lo que un padre orgulloso puede hablar de sus hijos.
Pero estaba lejos durante muchos meses y cuando hablaba con los niños, les contaba lo que hacía con sus amigos. No obstante, ni los niños conocían a sus amigos ni estos a los niños.
Un buen día, me invitaron al concurso de guitarra de Cienfuegos, provincia aledaña a Sancti Spíritus, por lo que nos pusimos de acuerdo y arreglé todo para viajar hasta Trinidad.
Y así hicimos.
Aquella noche los niños y los protagonistas de las historias de sus padres se conocieron y así pudieron ponerle rostros a los nombres tantas ocasiones escuchados.
Esta foto fue tomada en la casa de un excelente escultor, Jorge César Saínz, el autor de “El paño de María”, pieza que está expuesta en la Iglesia San Francisco de Asís, en La Habana.

La foto fue tomada por otro amigo del papá de los niños, Irán Marrero, un magnífico fotógrafo.
El fondo oscuro no es otra cosa que la noche y la iluminación es la de una lámpara led, normal.
Muchos han creído que es una foto de estudio o montaje... y nada más lejos de la realidad.
Quedó así de hermosa porque en ella están mis dos hijos y estamos felices.
