An amazing Xmas break and a really relaxing New Years Eve!

in Ladies of Hive3 years ago (edited)
This vacation was much needed. I was ill the days before I went home for xmas, and was for some days scared if it would result in me not coming home for xmas. But I'm so happy that I got much better the day before xmas :D

So what did I do on my xmas break? Went on a little hike with my boyfriend, playing and having fun in the snow, playing the sims 4, watching a lot of xmas movies and just enjoying spending time with my family. Me and a friend also wanted to arrange a reunion with old classmates, but there is so much corona so we decided arrange it in the summer instead.

Sleding like I did when I lived back home.

Me and my boyfriend on a hike behind my mom and dads house.

Someone wanted to start early on the presents. Haha!

Me showing off my DIY heels (video will come).

I went back to work the 30th and 31th of December,

and then had yesterday and today off again. Me and @pusen didn't plan anything special for the New Year celebration. We knew I had to sleep after work the 31th. He made lamb ribs and he also made the best cake I have ever ate! It's a salty chocolate cake with a hint of caramel and orange peel on the top.

We didn't dress up or did anything special, but sat in our PJ's and playing Mario Kart on Switch. Maybe one of my best New Years eve ever, just don't expecting anything and don't have the need of making it big or celebrate big. It was really relaxing!

When we went off to see the fireworks, there wasn't any wind at all

so we didn't see much of the fireworks as we usually do because there was just a lot of smoke from the fireworks. 30 min after there was so much smoke I couldn't see the streetlights at all. It was really foggy!

I hope everyone have had a great Xmas and a great New Years Eve!

Xmas dinner back home. Lamb ribs and pork ribs. We also have sauerkraut, potatoes, turnip puree and lingonberry jam with it. And one essential is also Norwegian xmas sodas, they taste like lingonberry or strawberries.

Simple but it looks like a really good one
And that cake - yummmmzzzzz

Happy New Year @emuse

Happy New Year to you too!

Hello @emuse. Sorry to hear you were ill before Christmas. But you did recover in time to enjoy your family and the snow. Amazing photos from your parents' home. That snow photo could be a greeting card. And what a relaxing Christmas and New Year's eve. You know, sometimes you don't need anything flashy or over-the-top; just a low-keyed and relaxing holiday. Sounds like you had fun.

Thanks for sharing your holiday, and take care. Hope you have a good new year. Take care.

Thank you so much! Our xmas was really relaxing too, because everyone over 18 didn't give any present to each other. We just came home with baked cookies, good food and wine/drinks. I didn't have any expectations either. I highly can recommend it! :D Haha.

Happy new year! Take care.

You're welcome. Yes, I believe in no gift giving also for adults. The holiday is for the little ones to enjoy in that respect.

Thanks for your support. I appreciate it.
