Navigating Love: My Journey and Insights. LOH#225

The very first time I said "I love you" to a person was during my relationship with my first-ever love. We started as friends in 2002 when I just finished secondary school but in 2004, he popped out what was in him ever since we met,**dating aspect** I was already in love with him but refused to reciprocate the words **I love you** until the day he was traveling abroad to Germany, and I was there to bid him farewell.

We started talking in a corner where it was just the two of us, promising ourselves heaven on earth. I didn't even realize when I said the words "I love you." This was something he had been anticipating from me since the start of our relationship. It was so emotional with a beautiful and deeper kiss (love is beautiful) that I kept repeating "I love you" until the plane disappeared from my sight. However, I won’t say the end was sweet, as he later didn’t come back for me. I locked my heart for for good two years before I finally found the one for me👌

What Are My Love Languages?

Quality Time: Spending quality time with my spouse is the number one love language I cherish. We can spend hours together without getting bored.
Physical Touch: I deeply value physical touch from my dearest, not just anyone; this connection makes me feel safe and secure.
Open Communication: I dislike being kept in the dark. Communication is vital to me.
Trust: Don’t breach the trust I have in you, whether it's financial or otherwise; it’s crucial to maintain a strong foundation of trust between us.

AND

In every relationship, certain boundaries must be upheld for it to thrive. The Bible states that "two shall become one" (Genesis 2:24), yet this does not imply we should smother one another over issues that ought to remain personal. Setting boundaries is essential for any healthy relationship to endure.

In my case, I prioritize:
Open communication: Communication is a crucial key in every relationship. I communicate openly about my feelings while also establishing limits on topics that could lead to conflict, fostering a healthier communication style.

Financial Boundaries: Some men don't like when a woman expresses interest in their spending habits, they prefer to have dominion over their finances. Thus, calmly and politely discussing my expectations regarding financial responsibilities can prevent misunderstandings.

Privacy Boundaries: Understanding and respecting each other's privacy is crucial for establishing a healthy relationship. I can count on the many times I have touched my husband’s mobile phone. He never prevented me from doing so; rather, I maintain the principle of respecting privacy. I prefer not to see things that might affect me that's called privacy.

Respect: This is another crucial boundary we need to set for our relationship to triumph. Respect one's feelings, avoid belittling one another, avoid criticizing each other's efforts, and be tolerant.

What are my feelings around Togetherness and Independence in a Relationship?

Togetherness in a relationship means sharing experiences, trust, quality time, financial responsibilities, mutual understanding, and support, where both partners feel connected and valued. Independence, on the other hand, allows each partner to grow as an individual and pursue their self-interests, hobbies, and friendships outside the relationship.

In conclusion, understanding these dynamics and boundaries can pave the way for a fulfilling and lasting relationship that nurtures both togetherness and individuality,
