You are very blessed, certainly a union of two people is a very private, and personal choice, but it is witnessed and celebrated by so many, it really seems as if the couple is sacrificing a part of their joining to the community! It is a practice of many cultures to expect the couple to have something elaborate for everyone else to get a chance to join in the celebration, to share in the joy, to help create memories of a lifetime for the community. But I am with you, it should above all be a moment in time for the two people who are making an honorable commitment to each other.
