Hello, Hivers! ππ What's up? For today's Rejourney, I'm going to share to you my inspiring story of being the bridesmaid (twice) and eventually venturing into being the "On the day wedding coordinator" as my side hustle in paying for our family's bills.π
As someone who grew up in the province, it has already been a nature on my part to always work hard for the things that I want in life. I never knew that attending a wedding as the bridesmaid would lead me to discovering something that both became my passion and additional source of income in helping my family.π
Nothing feels exciting than being invited in a wedding for the very first time. I was overwhelmed when my cousin told me that she's getting married already and she wanted me to be part of her bridesmaids. I immediately said "yes" when she told me about this.
Meet my cousin, Ate Mariel.β€οΈ She's been through a lot in life before meeting the person she married. It was all worth it in the end because she married the man who loves everything about her and not merely on the physical appearance.β£οΈ
It was my cousin's mother and her sibling who walked her down the aisle. Ate Mariel and everyone inside the church got emotional upon seeing this moment. One of Ate Mariel's wish was for her father to be with her in this special event, unfortunately he passed away because of an illness few years ago. It was a mixed of emotions for my cousin however she's still grateful for what's in the present. She would always think that even if his father is no longer with her physically, she knows that he's happy up there in heaven upon seeing her now. π
Kuya Romel is paying some respect to the family of Ate Mariel as he takes her as his wife.β€οΈ There's so much happiness from their faces right here.π
I'm just so happy seeing my cousin getting the love she deserves and ending up with a man whom she really prayed and asked God for to be with her to infinity and beyond.
They are now officially a married couple.π Witnessing the wedding of my cousin is truly a blessing for me.π It was such an honor to be one of her bridesmaids.π
After exchanging their "I do's," we had a picture taking with family and friends to celebrate this special event.β€οΈ
After the church wedding of my cousin and our cousin-in-law, we went directly to their humble home in Argao, Cebu, Philippines. It was a simple celebration with family and friends, yet full of love and happiness. Love indeed deserves to be celebrated.πβ€οΈ
Just a month after the wedding of my cousin, I was again invited to be one of the bridesmaids for the wedding our family friend. This is the second time that I was invited for the same role in a wedding.π I said "yes" again since the couple are so close to my heart.β€οΈ
THE PREPERATION AT MAAYO HOTEL IN ARGAO, CEBU, PHILIPPINES
The preparation and photoshoot was done at the Maayo Hotel in Argao, Cebu, Philippines. This resort is considered as one of the best resorts here in Argao, Cebu, Philippines with its amazing architectural design.

After the photoshoot with Ate Nenia, we will now be witnessing the photoshoot of the groom who is Kuya Aldwin together with his handsome groomsmen and best man.π My younger brother happens to be one of the groomsmen here.
I am just so happy that I got to witness this beautiful celebration of two people who really climbed up the ladder to surpass any challenges in life. Ate Nenia was there when Kuya Aldwin was still chasing for his dreams until he became an Engineer and now works in Australia. Ate Nenia supported him and prayed with him. Indeed "love conquers all."
Their wedding ceremony was held at Nuestra SeΓ±ora del Pilar de Zaragoza Church in Sibonga, Cebu, Philippines. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. CaΓ±o.β£οΈ
I was with my family to witness this unforgettable event of two people receiving the sacrament of marriage. By this time my parents was able to make it on someone's wedding day.π
The celebration was held at Kalumpang Resort in Argao, Cebu, Philippines. I was totally amazed on how the whole reception area was decorated by their wedding planner and event organizer. I admire how they took good care of the bride and groom as well. That's when I learned to love weddings and later on it turned as my side hustle. I am so blessed to have friends in the wedding industry who also gave me the opportunity to do weddings as an "on the day wedding coordinator."
And oh, I wasn't expecting that during the reception I'll be the ones who will receive the bouquet from the bride. Hahaha! π That's me and Pat in the photo who is a good friend of mine. I am just so happy for Ate Nenia and Kuya Aldwin. They really deserve each other. A love story that was beautifully written by God.β€οΈ
I remember before pandemic happened, my friends in the wedding industry would message me if I'm up for a side hustle on my rest day and I eventually said yes to them. My experiences of being the bridesmaid made me love weddings even more. I've already experienced 3 weddings as an on the day wedding coordinator. My friends in the wedding industry would do all the planning and my task is just to assist the bride or groom on the day of their wedding, and also to assist their guests during the reception. I never felt tired at all while doing this. I totally enjoyed it. This is me right here when I do my side hustles at someone's wedding.π
These are just some of the memories I have during a wedding. Sometimes I'm assigned to assist the bride and sometimes I'm assigned to assist the groom on the day of their wedding. I just love the positive feedbacks that I used to get from them. I am also very grateful to my friends in the wedding industry who really have great minds and passion in making someone's wedding memorable.β€οΈ
This was held in Chateau de Busay in Cebu City, Philippines. The couple were so kind and their love story is really extraordinary. This time, I was assigned to assist the bride from the start of the event until the reception. She was very thankful to all of us. That's my amazing friends in the wedding industry who made this event possible.π
For the second wedding that I've assisted, it was still the same friends in the wedding industry who asked me to be an on the day wedding coordinator again. This time I was assigned again to assist the bride and the guests during the reception. I just love how kind the couple were. I even got emotional when they shared about their love story to everyone in the venue at that time.π
This is the last wedding so far that I've assisted. This time it was a different group of friends in the wedding industry who gave me this side hustle. I was assigned to assist the groom. I just admire how amazing this team were. The couple were so kind as well. As of this writing, I totally miss doing this kind of side hustle and I'm looking forward to do it again soon. π
