There's this argument that food cooked with firewood is tastier than the one cooked with a gas cooker.
I also heard it but till now I didn't feel any difference in taste and I didn't find any logic behind the statement.
By the way, enjoying time in the village is always enjoyable and I can see that your family enjoying the time in the village quite well.
