We didn't have baked apples growing up, but as a young adult, I saw a recipe to make some, with the center hollowed and filled with raisins, nuts and all that. I tried it and they were SO delicious ! It's making me want to bake some now.
I didn't know where the "apple a day" saying came from. Now I do !
They are much easier than making an apple pie! Especially when cooking for one!
