Today's session will be about hair. I know it has been a while since I talked about hair stuff and the rest. Let's have a quick write-up about REVAMPING.
First, what is revamping in terms of hair?
Well in my view it is the process of transforming, and winging your old wigs or weapons back to life. Let's just liken it to RESURRECTION (the wig died then came back to life ....interesting right).
Knowing the type of weapon you want to revamp is very important so you can know which materials to use, whether it is curly, wavy, straight, and so on. After knowing the type of weapon you want to revamp, then you set your materials ready.
These are the following materials needed for revamping
- A small bowl that can contain the wig
- Shampoo and Conditioner
- Brush(weapon brush)
- Leave-in conditioner
- Silicon mix(Hair treatment)
- Curl Lala(for curly weapon)
- Hair wax sticks
- Hair Oil
- Hot comb and straightener
- Electric Kettle.
MY PROCESS OF REVAMPING
This is the way I revamp my client's wigs:
Put the wig in the bowl, brush it out to avoid tangling then wash thoroughly. Some clients' wigs might be dirty or not. If it is dirty you wash it three to four times.
After washing with shampoo, add conditioner then massage a little and rinse the hair.
When you are done rinsing, apply the leave-in-conditioner and silicon mix on your wig thoroughly then brush as well.
The next thing is to put water in your electric kettle (don't fill it up). Allow boiling a little.
Put the wig (that you apply silicon mix and leave-in-conditioner on) in black nylon and put it in the electric kettle and boil.
Then remove the wig from the electric kettle and nylon, put it back in the bowl, pour the hot water on the wig and leave it for five minutes.
Rinse with cold water and sun-dry it.
After drying, you can add hair oil, and hair spray and use your hair straightener or stronger to style it. The hot comb and hair wax stick can be used when the closure or frontal of the wigs needs to be flattened.
Finally, try to trim the hair if necessary.
STRAIGHTENING
So today my client wanted to straighten her wig, so I thought of showing you guys as well on how to straighten hair perfectly.
So the materials needed for straightening of hair are
Dummy head
- Gloves (always use your gloves to avoid burns)
CONSEQUENCE OF NOT USING A GLOVE
Hair oil
Combs(different sizes)
Hair straightener
THE PROCEDURES FOR PERFECT STRAIGHTENING OF HAIR
Place your wig on your dummy head
Apply hair oil on the hair. I use ludaois oil cause it is oily and has a nice fragrance.
Cut out the hair line by line using the combs and ensure you comb it well to avoid tangling.
Plug your hair straightener and allow it to heat up. The hair straightener has degrees(from lowest to highest), I normally put mine to the highest.
Put on your gloves. It is very essential for safety purposes.
Take a small portion of the hair(little by little) and straighten it two to three times, and take it from the root to the tip as I did in the video.
Repeat this process till you finish up. A little advice is always to use your gloves. During the process of straightening my client's wig, I burnt my hand due to my adamant behavior of not wearing gloves. Please don't forget your gloves. Thank you and I hope you learned from today's hair session.

Wow, this is really interesting girl and you explained it very well and as long as you have the right equipment it will be easy to follow these steps.
So sorry about your hand that got burned, it must have really hurt a lot especially seeing the way you were stressing that we should put it on.
