Circle Jerk

Hello, everyone!
Janine here, and today I want to address a concern that has been brought up by many within the Hive community: the revenue system.

It's no secret that some individuals seem to benefit more than others, leading to accusations of a 'circle jerk' where certain users simply upvote each other to boost their earnings. This has raised questions about the fairness and transparncy of the system.

The Hive blockchain was built on the principles of decentralization and empowering creators to monetize their content. However, it is disheartening to witness a scenario where a select few seem to dominate the platform's revenue streams. This undermines the very essence of a decentralized ecosystem, where rewards should be distributed more evenly among all participants based on the value they bring to the community. The current perception of a 'circle jerk' creates a sense of disillusionment among those who genuinely contribute valuable content and engage with the community. It can discourage new users from joining, as they may feel that their efforts will go unnoticed or unrewarded. This is detrimental to the growth and sustainability of the Hive blockchain as a whole.

To address this issue, we must explore ways to promote a more inclusive revenue distribution model. Transparency and accountability are key. It's important for the community to have access to information about voting patterns and distribution of rewards, allowing for a more informed discussion and understanding of the ecosystem.

Additionally, promoting genuine engagement and recognizing quality content can help shift the focus from a select group to a broader range of creators. Encouraging initiatives that highlight and reward diverse perspectives and originality can help level the playing field and provide opportunities for newcomers to thrive.

As users of the Hive blockchain, we have the power to shape its future. Let's come together as a community and engage in constructive conversations about how we can improve the revenue system. By fostering a culture of fairness, inclusivity, and transparency, we can create an environment where everyone has a chance to benefit and contribute to the growth of the platform. I would love to hear your thoughts on this matter. Have you encountered challenges with the revenue system on the Hive blockchain? What changes or improvements would you like to see? Let's continue this dialogue and work towards building a more equitable and sustainable ecosystem.

Stay optimistic and keep pushing for positive change!

My current HP is just short of dolphin status (I should actually become a dolphin tomorrow :) )...

This means my vote is now creeping into the top 2000 accounts. Nevertheless, it is still only worth about $0.06 or so! Hahaha!

It is really only the whales and orcas (or those rare accounts with a similar amount delegated to them) that can really give you the kind of vote that you're hoping for when you post... usually only the top 10 that vote on a post that does well.

Hopefully with time the number of strong voters grows... but I think by then the number of new accounts needing votes on their posts will have grown even more?

Congratulations! :D

Idk - I see, it's a tricky problem. All in all I just think the ship (Hive) is starting to sink. Most HP belongs to a tiny number of individuals & their bags just seem to grow... That's pretty much the same as with Steem and other social media platforms that failed previously.
