Finally, it's time to share these magical and unforgettable memories, that are always there and that unknowingly today come to the surface thanks to this LOH-164 contest through @nainaztengra, that unknowingly today with this question, you are for me a window of light this day, making me feel very happy, with this magical wish in the Christmas season.
I close my eyes thinking about how I would love to go back to the Christmas we used to spend in the cute little house, in the 80s, 90s to 2000, as the kids called the chalet, my country house, in the Venezuelan Andes.
It was an urbanization of Chalets, in the surroundings of a town in the state of Trujillo "La Puerta", it was a great place for its native people, the wooded nature, with rivers, flowers, strawberries with cream, Christmas trees, mushrooms, vegetable crops and vegetables, three hours from the state of Merida, where the Mérida cable car (Venezuela), the highest and longest in the world, and the cold climate typical of the Andean villages.
In our Chalet we enjoy lighting the fireplace, accompanied by some churros with hot chocolate and spices, and the smell of ginger cookies.
We taught dancing to our children and to those who shared with us, we played board games, without worries and in that freezing cold at night hours that forced the hat, gloves and ruana.... It was really magical. It was really magical to spend vacations, or any weekend in our Chalet located in the outskirts of La Puerta, Trujillo State, VE.
I enjoy and appreciate the happy time with my parents, when they lived here in my home country, they visited us in the chalet, plus family and close friends who paraded whenever they went for the weekend.
It was always great, at Christmastime the smell of typical Venezuelan food like hallacas, and my mom would make rich cream punch and from the bakery we had at that time, we would bring the most stuffed ham breads in history because they also put cream cheese on them..... Wow, it was great when we shared as a family.
There was a time when going to the Chalet, when we lived in Caracas was complex, my children were still under our control, my husband's and mine (they were minors), it was a long trip to spend just one weekend.
So we decided to spend three (3) weeks in December and four weeks in summer vacation. For the kids it was the reunion with friends from vacations, Maracuchos, people from my beloved land of the sun Maracaibo, who came to other chalets of the Urbanization and who were growing up just like them, it was the magic of sharing with our friends, during vacations and Christmastime.
My house (Chalet) was always full of boys, and girls, because as we went so many days we brought balls, skateboards, bicycles, video games, ropes, rackets and as many things as you can imagine.
The house smelled like tequeños, nuggets, and ham and cheese chips that we accompanied by natural orange juices...the moms of other kids and teenagers would parade around looking for their kids who were lost for hours .... hahaha 🤣 but they (boys and girls) were always safe in our country Chalet.
By the way the cream punch recipe was easy to make, I'm going to share with you how to make it: vanilla flan with spices, condensed milk, liquid milk and rum, to the eye percent. The whole process is done in the blender, packed in a glass container, cool and enjoy.
To a great extent the myth, the magic, still prevails in those Christmas vacations to my chalet, and I sincerely believe that it will continue to be so for a long time.
To remember is to live, and I am sure that these magical memories are not bad for the spirit of Christmas that embraces us in these times of love and peace.

While reading your blog, it reminds me of my Christmas seasons while growing up.
The thought of it alone brings joy and entertainment. Is it the joy of getting new clothes for Christmas or the fact that each family got a live chicken to be killed and cooked for Christmas? The scent of fried chicken everywhere on Christmas Eve; you'll obviously not wait to devour it the next day.
The fun part is the fireworks; I really loved those days and wish I could revisit them.
ufff you are right the most the fireworks, I remember that before we waxed them we ooniakos to our nascitas the gatis and oerris in my house, so that they would not suffer so much.
Thanks for sharing your memories.
when my sis and i grow up, we had Christmasses with snow and cold wheater, the second christmasday was the birthday of our grandfather of mothers-side, so we spent that day with all the family of my mom's side. The first Chrismas day we often spent with the grandparents of my fathers side, he went picking them up at their home, and in the meanwhile our mom was cooking the christmas dinner. And we also spent many christmasses at my aunts house, with the half-brother of our mom and his family, our nieces. My mom and i enjoyed our meatball and the rest of the family ate their rabbit. But what we most liked was the icecream for desert, 😍
Beautiful your memories and that my memories have surfaced your warm and sweet memories with your sister and family in your home..your soul and heart
