Entering the modeling induy is really super exciting and it comes with different diversities which includes flashy runway shows and cool photoshoots. As a model, I've had some cool adventures but sometimes not all go as planned and my recent trip to model in Ikoyi, Lagos Island, was a totally different gig entirely.
The days started out as expected and i was ready to go over to the hotel which was booked for us and wait till the next day for the photoshoot because there was a guideline, thqt we have to be there a day before ghe modelling shooting. I was pumped to leave the busy streets of Lagos Mainland for the fancy Ikoyi area and those in lagos know how beautiful ikoyi is, but Lagos traffic had a surprise waiting for me.
The journey started okay, but soon turned into a race against time because i needed to be at the location before 4pm and immediately i got to island, cars were packed bumper to bumper, the sun was scorching, and horns were blaring everywhere, i wasn't prepared for this kind of traffic because i thought it would just be a normal traffic and within 1 hour, i would have gotten to my location.
I have experienced Lagos traffic before and i knew how to scale through but this traffic was totally different and it was for the first time experiencing this tensed traffic and i was actually shocked. But amidst the chaos, I saw the colorful side of island in lagos from street vendors selling stuff, different trees unlike mainland where there's no tree and also music blasting from passing cars.
After what felt like years, I finally got to Ikoyi. The towering buildings caught me off guard and the security procedures were awesome and i was thoroughly chrcked and my details were scanmed to make sure it's not a wrong oerson coming in. This was the first time i was experiencing such proceedures in lagos and I'm sure it's because i stay om the mainland.
I finally got my entrance card and i was lead directly to the room i will be staying and the first thing i did was to rest and after which i did that, immediately i woke up, I felt a mix of excitement and nerves. Even though I've done this before, But I knew once I hit that runway, it would all be worth it.
Immediately I went downstairs because some of my modeling friends also were invited and we all planned to meet downstairs explore ikoyi, taking in the cool sights and taking some pictures. Even though the wait felt long, I stayed positive.
Hopefully things goes smoothly as planned and hopefully no setback tomorrow and everything works in my favor.
I'm grateful for the love y'all have been showing me since yesterday, I didn't expect that much to be honest. I'm so grateful 🙏🏾❤️
