EMPTY OR ...?

Extremely famished, I scurried to the food house to prepare something to eat.

There, was the cylinder without gas. I looked away from it and threw my gaze on the stove.. Of what use was an empty cylinder that would not get a meal cooked?

Checked the stove for kerosene and realized there was just a little kerosene left. It was evening and I had no plans of going out again; I had just returned from school and was too tired to walk past the exit.

I wished the kerosene would just serve that night so I wouldn't have to go out. Well, wishes are not horses.

I waited and waited for the kettle to whistle, for the water to boil so I could make my pap for dinner. After some minutes of waiting, I checked the stove again only to realize the flames had gone out, the stove was out of kerosene already.

I was eventually left with no option than to go get kerosene 🙄.
Once the kerosene was poured into the stove, it only took few minutes before the kettle whistled, the water boiled. I made my pap, ate and rested.

The next day, I suddenly remembered the previous day's evening episode and it got me racking my head in thoughts.

Like a cylinder without gas; a stove without kerosene, a fireplace without woods, an electric cooker without power, like these ones, just as they cannot get a meal cooked without their source of fuel, you can't thrive or last long in your chosen field without adequate KNOWLEDGE in it.

You need constant advancement in knowledge to stay relevant in your niche, field of study, skill space, and anywhere your service is needed and offered.

You need to consciously deposit regularly in your knowledge bank so you don't run out of fuel when it is most needed.

Don't rush to organize a class for others when the only knowledge you have in that subject is the one you were born with🙄. First enroll to be taught yourself, get your talent refined. Get adequately trained! What do you want to teach others when your own knowledge is limited? Get more knowledge; learn, unlearn, relearn, before you teach others or make an attempt to earn from that your know.

Never resolve to make do with the little knowledge you have, it may not serve its intended purpose.

There's no limit to what you can know to help you grow and glow positively, but you must be wise enough to not just know but also apply the KNOW. For wisdom is not just in knowing, but in the application of the acquired knowledge.
KNOW✔️ APPLY ✔️ GROW✔️
