Celebrating the early Saints like Apostles give us perspective, insight, and a model how they exercised their faith in daily life and in the face of hardship and persecution. Not that different from you or I, the Scriptures show they were very ordinary people; laborers, farmers, shepherds, fishermen, even a tax collector and a pharasee. Ordinary people acting on faith for an extraordinary God. I am a Baptist and I also took the opportunity to thank God for raising such remarkable individuals over the centuries.
