Kudos to you being sensible with your use of resources.
I live in a part of Canada with a bounty of natural resources yet I personally practice minimal usage and consumption in my household.

In hindi we have a proverb "jab Jago, tabhi savera", which means "The morning is when you wake up". So it's never too late, you can start from now onwards. And if you are saying there is bounty of resources you can also encourage others to do it. If all come together we definitely will save mother nature.
It's a slow process but so strong.
