Indeed it taste much better! Just like my easter turkey, came from a farm and was picked up the day before the smoking from the BBQ house, it's sooo much better. Same for the honey, each pollen types produces a different taste and color, when you start to taste a few you can notice it between batches. I replaced much of my sugar in cooking with local honey. If you look around, especially in Turner Valley and south of the province , you can get farmed elk, farmed bison, local beef and so on for sale directly from them and like full legit licensed to do so. Farmers markets are a good place too for veggies, not so much now but in the harvest season, you can get good deals.

Indeed i came form the Okanagan valley where each region had different honey. All very different deepening on time of the season and region. The farm i was at had all the meats and eggs to be acquired for supply, good price and good people. Makes supporting a family directly such a better way of transacting. I am looking forward to the pick up date to eat more of what they have produced. I am in the north area.
