It was October last year when I noticed something wrong with my son's head.
This is what I mean 🥹! It looks elongated and pointed. Some of you may remember that I had a hard time when he was a newborn, which is why I was focused on nourishing him and ensuring that he was well-fed, healthy, and clean. Sadly, I neglected a specific routine: moving his head frequently and changing position from time to time. Realizing my fault, I couldn't help but blame myself for being a failure.
Honestly, I didn't notice until he lifted his head. Thus, after that, scrolling photos on my phone's gallery says it was for months. I badly wanted to cry and kept on ranting to the husband, and he was like.
His hair will eventually grow and cover his head. Besides, he was normal, so don't worry.
Ahhh that doesn't help. I thought it might affect him physically in the future. I am a Mom and definitely will do everything! So when he fell asleep, I opened my laptop and searched on Google.
What to do with a flat, elongated, plagiocephaly head. The remedy and how to determine if it was severe. Ah, Google was indeed a great help throughout my motherhood journey. After reading a lot of articles and watching videos, I felt at ease, as my problem wasn't severe. His head would eventually reshape. All I needed to do was change the routines.
Here's what I did.
- Lay him down on our bed without pillows. I had read that it is more advisable so he can freely move his head. Yet, that is only when he is asleep. If he is awake and after feeding, I lay him here.
I bought a memory pillow from TikTok after realizing the one I was using wasn't good for babies. That time, I wanted to send an email to the manufacturer where I bought it! You know, just have someone to blame!
He was three months old when he started to lose his baby hair. Too bad it was all in front, which made his head look worse 😂.
At this time, I was ranting to my husband that I no longer wanted another baby! It is stressing me so much.
He looks cute here and sees that smile. Yet, his head reminds me of cartoon characters I used to watch when I was a kid.
Hold him more often. Yes, many may say I should train him to stay in bed, stroller, or crib, but can you blame me? Google says I should avoid pressure, and that would help reshape!
Massaging his head every morning. Not totally., I applied pressure, but it was more of a caressing. Yet, even though I did this only for a few days, it made him mad. Like his Dad, he doesn't like when someone touches his hair.
Did it work?
In December last year, I noticed it started to look better. Still, when taking photos, his head looks long, yet not that pointed compared to the previous months.
After that, his Daddy came home from vacation. We got busy with many events, holidays, and his christening. Weeks ago, while attending a holy mass, I was busy taking photos of him and noticed that...
His head looks normal now!
Goodbye elongated head and hello to cutie Era 😅🥰
Isn't he is cute? See those curls? He got that from me! Now, I felt at ease and more confident as a mom!

Just on your title i was thinking of the T.V. show Coneheads
Anyways my son had an irregular shaped head after the first month or two. As he got a little older it reshaped to a normal looking head. We also did some of things you mentioned but I think the growing process fixed it more than anything. Anyways he's cute, mommy and daddy made a handsome baby!
I think, irregular heads happened usually during normal delivery. Something to do how the mother of push the baby out.
I, was CS mom, his head was okay yet, that happened because of my negligence 😂. My mom actually scolded me 😂.
Hehe,thanks for the compliments
That could have something to do with it but my son was born C-section. So I think the way he slept on his noggin shaped it. I don't think it's your fault I bet this happens more frequently than we think :)
Oh, I guess! Mine I blamed the pillow 😂. You know, there wasn't the shallow part at the center 😂.

I think I heard somewhere na it will go back to normal din after some time 🤔. But anyways, if its me I worry too especially alam mo naman panahon natin ngayon, masyadong maraming judger. I'll surely do something for him too if its me. I am glad that its back to normal na. And he is really cute, especially that curls of him. Sure ka ayaw mo na dagdagan talaga? Haha. How about baby girl naman with a curly hair too? Uwu
Honestly speaking, I want a baby, a girl maybe.
Just the problem, it was so hard kasi magrecover from CS esp wala si husband.
Imagine, I just gave birth via CS, tapos si Caleb toddler na 😂
