I want to share today with you all, my walk around the Port of Sotogrande in Southern ~ Spain ๐ช๐ธ and all the details that I saw. Are you coming along? ๐๐
All 12 photographs are taken with my iPhone on 18 September 2022 ๐ I will follow the time stamp so it looks like you are walking along with me ๐๐ป
Have a look at what I saw:
As we enter the port area we see many yachts ๐ฅ around. Letโs have a closer look at them today.
Smaller and really large ones.
Most are here for the winter months, until it gets better weather again and they head out to Sea ๐
I see a dock we can enter.
Walking between the boats and yachts all the way to the endโฆ
Sights to the right ๐
And to our left ๐ as mentioned before I do prefer a sailing boat over a yacht. What do you prefer if you could chose?
A few smaller ones.
At the end of the dockโฆ we are almost in the middle of this port (the water area) and when we look left we seeโฆ
In the distance the fuel area. And some larger yachts.
Something caught me eyeโฆ Iโm looking up, along these 4 mastsโฆ and see how they reach for the clouds. ๐๐ Iโm fascinated by this viewโฆ
Walking just a little furtherโฆ they still reach for the clouds but have found a gap now. Pretty cool ๐
Do look up sometimesโฆ as we could miss some magical moments ๐

These yachts are sure magnificent luxuries. I yearn more for the simpler and rugged old ways of life and a reason that I'd enjoy an old 3 masted sailing ship.

They are great for a change in scenery. Some nice bars and restaurants can always be found there.
And you will always see something different.
Yes, the clouds where coolโฆ one moment all covered and the next moment they broke up and got fluffy with blue sky. ๐

Although the week already is promising a lot of work, teaching, gigs, practising, rehearsals and all, I should find that time to enjoy a bit of sun ๐

Well, my week didn't allow me to visit any nice place like that harbour, but yes that old centre while I was waiting for the singer colleagues :)
Another new, busy week is waiting for me. But, tomorrow is a free day!!!!! hahha, if everything goes well (me not having a migraine, as I started my day with it today)
Aawww thatโs a shameโฆ but it sounds promising for tomorrow. Sending healing thoughts for your migraine, let it be gone soon. So you can do something nice tomorrow.

Wow! I love boats. This post makes me think it's time to visit Wilson's Wharf again in Durban Harbor...lol!

Which would I prefer? I have a tendency to prefer yachts. And wow, those are big yachts that you captured when you were in the middle of the port, looking out to where you can also see the fuel area...

This place is cuteโฆ luckily there are a few cute harbours nearby. So I can visit them.
The yachts there are just huge. That they even fit into this little port sometimes I wonder myself.
It is rather full this winter. Maybe I go out again to it. To see if there are changes. ๐

Those yachts in your photos are huge indeed and we would welcome more visits to this port as well...!
I'll do my best to make the best of the rest of my day...but we are about to have load-shedding again within the next 15 minutes...so then it is without any electricity again for at least 2 hours. I'm trying to do as much as I can now before then...
But it will be good...I suppose it's what we make of it...๐!

Itโs a great place to visit. I lived in this port for 1 year in 2018โฆ until we moved to Maltaโฆ so I know it well. The weather is still great here too in southern Spain. Hope you have good weather too there in Italyโฆ enjoy it a bit longer. Soon it will get colder when you are home again.You and me both @hoosie hahaha ๐คฃ

So cool to see this again! My parents lived their final years in Sotogrande; last time I was there was 2009. Lot of nice (if a bit spendy) bars and eateries in the port area... my folks were in the Casas Cortijo development, right next to the Valderrama golf course... old memories!
Great you are remembering old memories (again ;)) Thatโs a nice area they were in.
I lived 1 year in the port myself 2017 to 2018โฆ at the moment since 1 month we are in La Lomas. On the other side of the road and Valderrama.
Itโs a nice area to discover Sotogrande and all surroundings. We are only here temporarily at the moment, as we are between country moves. This was an easy place to find a rental for a short timeโฆ until June.
Yep the bars and restaurants are still too pricy. If you go into Torreguadiaro it is such a difference. Or even into Guadiaro.
I lived in a few places in Andalucia so farโฆ all the way from Cรกdiz city to Sayalonga and up towards Iznรกjar. In about 8 different areas. 3 provinces. So I have seen rather a lot of the south.

I love your pictures and I must say I would prefer the smaller ones simply because of easy access to all parts of the boat.
Yepโฆ it would be easier to access all on smaller boats. But not to small in the choppy seas ๐๐๐ hahaha ๐คฃ
