Rewind to just four years ago - if anyone told you that we'd very soon be standing all masked up in queues, behind the markers to social distance - a new term for me - you'd likely have told them they'd lost all their marbles!
I tried my utmost not to forget anything as I did not want to run back to the store just for one item and then face the dreaded queue again. The most annoying thing was forgetting that mask at home and having to drive all the way back until we all got clever and kept spare masks in the car. I stepped out of the car all mask-less one day and got such a fright as my first thought was that I was going to be arrested. You'd think I was an alien from another planet by the looks I was given by people around me!
My son introduced us to the very best online grocery shopping experience - enter Checkers60 which stands by its promise of having online orders delivered within 60 minutes, and if they cannot do it on time, the time slot is shown on the App.
One can actually see the progress as they shop, and if there's no stock of an item, you can agree to the alternative or give them free rein to choose alternatives.
Paying a small delivery fee and tipping the driver online, is simply the best.
It not only saves time, no need to get dressed up and get into your car, not having to face queues, no temptation to take things that you really don't need; especially those choccies and other treats that are always on the shelves where the queues are!
Goods are left on our wall and so we learned what our son meant by contactless deliveries.
Our son had been ordering most of their necessities online, and did the same for us so that Mom and Dad had more than enough immune boosters, masks, and other paraphernalia to ensure we do not get the dreaded virus :)
Faithful to Nature is a really great online store known for eco-friendly natural health and well-being products.
It's always exciting when one of these boxes arrives, and I have since also shopped from them.
The son then introduced us to Takealot, the name alone tells you that you can buy just about anything under the sun at this online store, and I have done so and have always been happy with my products.
We were shocked when three boxes arrived just after we'd been to the Drakensberg with our son, and he saw how unfit Mom and Dad were;)
Takealot delivered more boxes just before Christmas day, always a treat to see what's inside, and this was my special gift, a gaming keyboard for blogging, not gaming; I thought Takealot had made a mistake but now see why he chose this for me, as this keyboard is a whole new experience and a totally different feel to it, really awesome!
Do I enjoy online shopping or not? Certainly, the best for most of the necessities, although when it comes to stuff like a bed or a couch, I'd rather want to test-drive it in person first, but I'm sure the queues there will not look like the ones at the grocery store and the pharmacy which has been especially busy.
Covid certainly has been a big boost for online shopping, something that's here to stay. I'm using it way more often of late. The convenience of sitting at home in front of the computer, or using an App on your phone; being able to do price checks without the need to hop in and out of your car from store to store, and being bugged by persistent salespeople!
Online shopping is simply the best!
Thank you to @irenenavarroart for this week's questions; I've chosen Question 1, as you've just read!
1️⃣ With the arrival of the global pandemic, online commerce has grown into something routine. Do you like shopping online? Have you had a bad purchase, the product you ordered did not arrive on time, or was not what was expected? Tell us about your experience or if you still don't buy online, tell us the reason.
Or
2️⃣ What has been your greatest achievement at a professional or work level, perhaps a project that made you feel proud or something you did on your own and that only you could have done at home or at your workplace?
There still is plenty of time so I'd like to invite @jusipassetti to join in the fun.
The Ladies of Hive Contest ends each Saturday at 11:59 PM (23:59) UTC.

Reading you post makes me chuckle now......it wouldn't have back when this whole thing started! There was so much about the dreaded virus that just wasn't known and everything was suspect! I remember leaving those online order cardboard boxes in the garage for 3 days waiting for the virus to die before handling them and unpacking them! Craziness! My son did the same, lol! Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day!

Your son is so sweet! And glad you enjoy having those boxes and packs arriving at your gate. It's also amazing that your son go after those that are environmentally-friendly.
