Hi ladies,
when I noticed that one of the topic for this contest is hobbies, immediately, I got the feeling that I would love to share my hobby with this community.
It is nothing creative, no pets are involved, no musical instrument needed, no tangible result created. My biggest hobby is mountains.
My passion dates back to my age of 3 years when my grandparents started to take me to hiking trips with them. It was nothing difficult, just some short hikes and all-day long trips ending in some not very high peaks in our mountain range.
Since that time, I love staying in the nature, enjoy fresh air and great smell of the trees and taking energy from being alone.
This hobby of mine got on a higher level (for me) just last year when I started to climb higher mountains with the trips via glaciers and some lighter secured climbing.
And why I love it so much?
Let´s go and imagine that with me. First of all, check the weather forecast for the time you want to spend in the mountains. Then, you have to choose a sparing partner to go with. It should be somebody who you fully trust and who will not let you die in the middle of the journey. Then check all the routes leading to the mountain you have chosen, select the one you like and which seems to be within your limits, check if you have a place to sleep under the peak, pack your things into your backpack and travel 10 hours by car to get to the Alps.
Usually, it takes some hours to get to the cottage which is usually in the middle of the whole journey to the top.
Getting there is already some kind of reward. Just imagine being in 2500 - 3000 metres, sometimes with no people, no electricity, no tap water.
For making a tea, you have to melt some snow but you don´t mind it at all because there are wonderful views around you and you feel like in paradise.
Sun rays are touching your skin and you realize how little you need to feel pure happiness.
After a day spent in this altitude, the risk of being sick of the height is eliminated. Another reward is that you can enjoy the sunset.
And later on also the sky which is full of stars and with no light smog.
Early in the morning, sometimes even in the middle of night, the ascent to the peak starts.
Usually, you need special equipment such as crampons, rope and ice ax as the journey leads via glacier. Some rock climbing might be involved as well.
For me, it is a physically and also mentally demanding activity, I have several moments during the way when I really want to quit and turn back but I never give up. I know that it is really worth it. Just wait for it.
When you reach the top, the first thought is "wow, I did it!".
Then you look around and see the infinite belts of mountains around you.
Standing there and enjoying this breathtaking view, you suddenly forget all your daily worries. Instead, you have a feeling of total peace of mind, happiness, gratitude to your body for what we achieved together. Suddenly you realize how small we are and how ridiculous things we sometimes deal with. It feels like all your brain was washed away and filled again with a positive energy. There is nothing, just silence. You can hear wind, you can hear flapping of wings of birds flying around.
It is like infinite meditation. And at this point, I always say to myself that all the sweat, tears, struggling and hard work during the way to the top is definitely worth it. And for these moments, I will do it again and again.
I would like to invite one inspirative woman to this community. It is @craftingwithreny and she is one of the ladies who has managed to turn her hobby and something she is really good at to her job.
@loulou1987 Thanks for the invite! I will put something together later this week 🙌
Taking a memory from childhood into a lifelong enjoyment (h0bby), happy trails and hiking, when we prepared to put one foot in front of the other to get there.

Thank you @joanstewart for reading my post, for the reward and your comment. I am really greatuful to my grandparents to show me the beauty of nature and mountains.
Learning to appreciate what we have in outdoor life, remains with throughout the years.
When reaching the top, it would be awesome. Worth it, and we knew our hard work always leads to something beautiful :)
True, it is awesome. Thank you @anggreklestari for reading my post and for your comment.
This is a beautiful write up. I also find comfort in spending time alone. The photos are really awesome, the beauty of mountains will always impress me
Thank you very much, @creativemary. We have it the same way, then. :)

Wow @loulou1987! How breath taking and daring! I hike a lot and love my 'high places' views as well, but I don't think I'd be cut out for your type of adventure. I'm glad you are able to do it and enjoy it as well1. Thanks for sharing the beautiful views! Take care and have a lovely day!

All the stress and tear to the top is really worth it when you get there. We do not have mountains here so I do not hike but during NYSC, we went for mountaineering and I swear it wasn't easy. So I say kudos to you. Wishing us all the best in the contest
