Although the truth is that reading and writing are my daily activities, since I am in love with reading and I write for my blog every day, I don't consider myself a person who can write a book, at least not at this moment of my life, although I won't deny that it is what calls my attention. On the other hand, if I am a person who reads a lot, every day I am immersed in a story and I do it as a hobby, it is something that, despite the blocks, I have never stopped doing, except once I had a block too long, but I managed to get out of it. That's why when I saw this week's theme in this Ladies of Hive Community Contest #224, I knew I had to participate by sharing a little bit of my experience.
Aunque la verdad leer y escribir para mí son actividades de mi día a día, ya que estoy enamorada de la lectura y escribo para mi blog todos los días, no me considero una persona que pueda escribir un libro, por lo menos en este momento de mi vida no aunque no voy a negar que es lo que me llame la atención. Por otro lado, si soy una persona que lee muchísimo, a diario estoy sumergida en una historia y lo hago por hobby, es algo que, a pesar de los bloqueos, nunca he dejado de hacer, a excepción de una vez que tuve un bloqueo demasiado largo, pero logré salir de él. Por eso que al ver la temática de esta semana en este concurso de la comunidad Ladies of Hive #224, sabía que debían participar compartiendo un poquito de mi experiencia.
The truth is that talking about my favorite books, I would have to mention so many that it's a little complicated to decide. So I'm going to divide them into two categories, the books that help me to escape mentally and the books that help me a little bit to enlighten me regarding decisions in my life. First let's start with the latter topic, as I want to recommend three books that for me are Indispensable. The first one is the art of not becoming bitter about life by Rafael Santandreu, this book changed my life years ago and I had it in physical form and it was a blessing to have this book at hand for so long because it helps you a lot to change the perception of things. On the other hand, by the same author I was also reading nothing so terrible, at a time in my life when I was worried about so many things and I was overwhelmed by the things that happened to me, even if it was very small, basically this book helps you to stop drowning in a glass of water and realize that literally nothing is too terrible. Finally I want to recommend a book that I bought quite recently and I also liked it a lot, it is called women who love too much, by Robin Norwood, it is a book that helped me to realize the things I was doing wrong for a long time with my feminine energy and I feel it is a book that any woman should read in life.
La verdad es que hablando de mis libros favoritos, tendría que mencionar tantos que es un poco complicado decidirme. Así que voy a dividirlos en dos categorías, los libros que me ayudan a evadirme mentalmente y los libros que me ayudan un poco a iluminarme con respecto a decisiones en mi vida. Primero vamos a empezar con el último tema, ya que quiero recomendar tres libros que para mí son Indispensables. El primero de ellos es el arte de no amargarse la vida de Rafael Santandreu, este libro a mí me cambió la vida hace años y lo tuve en físico y fue una bendición tener ese libro a la mano durante tanto tiempo porque te ayuda muchísimo a cambiar la percepción de las cosas. Por otro lado, del mismo autor también estuve leyendo nada tan terrible, en un momento de mi vida en donde me preocupaba por tantas cosas y me agobiaba muchísimo por las cosas que me sucedían, así fuese muy pequeñas, básicamente este libro te ayuda a dejar de ahogarte en un vaso de agua y darte cuenta de que Literalmente nada es demasiado terrible. Por último quiero recomendar un libro que me comprase bastante poco y también me ha gustado muchísimo, que se llama las mujeres que aman demasiado, de Robin Norwood, es un libro que me ayudó a darme cuenta de las cosas que estuve haciendo mal durante mucho tiempo con mi energía femenina y siento que es un libro que cualquier mujer debería leer en la vida.
On the other hand, we have the books that have helped me a lot to escape from reality, basically in the fantasy genre. I'm going to start with Of Blood and Ashes, Throne of Glass, A Court of Rose and Thorns, The Kiss of Hell, and I'm going to mention Crescent City. The truth is that I have more favorite books from the fantasy category, but there are so many that I literally couldn't stop talking about them, so I'm going to tell you in general terms why I love them. Mainly, the way my favorite authors write, which are Jennifer L. Armentrout and Sarah J Maas, are amazing because they grab you from one moment into the story, get into that fantasy world and you can't stop. With Jennifer L. Armentrout, it happens to me a lot that her worlds are well crafted and the romances are so passionate that it's the perfect combination. With Sarah J. Maas, it happens to me that I'm in love with how she has connected her three different sagas, let's say making a multiverse. Each one of them gives me a different vibe and I feel like I'm going to read them over and over again throughout my life.
Por otro lado, tenemos los libros que a mí me han ayudado un montón a escapar de la realidad, básicamente en el género de la fantasía. Voy a empezar por De Sangre y Cenizas, Trono de Cristal, Una Corte de Rosa y Espinas, El Beso del Infierno, y voy a mencionar Ciudad Medialuna. La verdad es que tengo más libros favoritos de la categoría de fantasía, pero son tantos que literalmente no podría parar de hablar de ellos, así que voy a contarles en términos generales porque los amo. Principalmente, la forma en la que escribe mis autoras favoritas, que son Jennifer L. Armentrout y Sarah J Maas, son increíbles porque te atrapan desde un momento en la historia, entra a ese mundo de fantasía y no puedes parar. Con Jennifer L. Armentrout, me pasa mucho que sus mundos son bien elaborados y los romances son tan apasionados que es la combinación perfecta. Con Sarah J. Maas, me pasa que estoy enamorada de cómo ha conectado sus tres sagas distintas, digamos que haciendo un multiverso. Cada una de ellas me da una vibra distinta y siento que voy a leerlos una y otra vez durante toda mi vida.
For me reading is something fundamental, the truth is that without reading I could not exist and even if there are moments where I don't have time, where my brain is too saturated and I can't read something new, I will always go back to my favorite books. Definitely, no matter what chapter it is, what page it is, I can open any book of any saga of the books I have already mentioned, especially the fantasy ones, and I will start reading it and without realizing it I could have read 50 pages and I will have enjoyed it a lot. For me reading is everything and I owe a lot to it. Basically, much of my mental stability I developed along with reading and that for me is very important. Para mí la lectura es algo fundamental, yo la verdad es que sin la lectura no podría existir y aunque haya momentos en donde no tenga tiempo, donde mi cerebro está demasiado saturado y no puedo leer algo nuevo, siempre voy a regresar a mis libros favoritos. Definitivamente, no importa qué capítulo sea, qué página sea, yo puedo abrir cualquier libro de cualquier saga de los libros que ya les he mencionado, especialmente de los de fantasía, y voy a comenzar a leerlo y sin darme cuenta podré haber leído 50 páginas y lo habré disfrutado un montón. Para mí la lectura es todo y le debo mucho. Básicamente, gran parte de mi estabilidad mental la desarrollé junto con la lectura y eso para mí es importantísimo.
