Mother's day is a day set aside to honour and celebrate the selfless love, the unwavering dedication and the unrelenting support of our mothers. But my concern is, why should this celebration be limited to just one day in a year? Shouldn't everyday be mother's day?
Reflecting on the impact my mother made in my life, I am reminded of the countless ways she shaped me into becoming the kind of person I am today. From the moment I was born, she was like my rock, my confidante and a light to my path.
I imagine myself in her stomach, kicking her endlessly with my twin. Probably she had swollen legs and was always tired. I imagine her taking care of my elder brother, and managing the family, too. I imagine her preparing food, washing clothes or doing some other house chores. I imagine her walking along the road with a protuding tummy. I imagine her in labour, holding back the pains and pushing me out first, then my twin. I imagine her enduring the pain of breastfeeding. I imagine her taking care of my elder brother, while watching over us, too. I imagine her cleaning us up after we might have soiled our diapers. And these, she did happily. Even in her tiredness, she still found a way to smile, to make us - her children, happy.
Mothers like mine are not just limited to biological relationships. There are countless women who have mothered through adoption, foster care, through mentorship or even through their little acts of kindness.
These are women who have opened up their hearts and their homes to those in need of love, care, affection, giving them a sense of belonging.
And somehow, mothers are often underappreciated. They are the unsung heroes of our societies. Always working behind the scene to keep the families, the communities and the society thriving. Have you noticed that when a child goes the wrong way, the mother is to be blamed?
So, shouldn't we be honouring and thanking them for their dedication and for all they do everyday? Shouldn't we recognize their sacrifices, their love and the lives which they have touched?
Just imagine a world where mothers are celebrated everyday. A world where children grow up being appreciative of their mothers' love and support. Imagine a world where mothers feel heard, seen and cherished.
Everyday should be Mother's day because mothers are the backbone of the society. They are like the roots supporting the tree to grow well and flourish. They are the ones who keep families together, who provide comfort and solace in times of need. They are the ones who selflessly put others first before themselves.
Everyday should be mother's day because, mothers deserve our gratitude. They deserve to feel loved everyday and appreciated, and valued.
We can show them appreciation through our little acts of kindness, our thoughtful gestures and our expressions of gratitude.
And to all mothers out there - biological, foster, adoptive, I celebrate you. I celebrate your love, support and guidance to the society at large.
Mothers deserve to be cherished every day of the year.

Hello @ministeringpen23 agree with you: "every day should be mother's day because mothers deserve our gratitude. They deserve to feel loved every day, appreciated and valued‘, that's why mothers" love is selfless and unconditional, beautiful words, thanks for sharing, a hug.
Aw. Thank you so much.
Indeed, mothers are the backbone of the society. They are selfless beings who sacrificed and dedicated lots of their times to take care of their children while nurturing them into becoming best versions of themselves in society and in the family. They deserves to be appreciated and celebrated always.
So, you are a twin? How about your other twin? Don't you think he or she should be here on Hive too? So we can have Hivers Twins 😆

Yes, mothers should be celebrated, always.
Yes, I'm a twin and he's not on hive. I don't think he'd even be interested in it. 😅
Even without it being declared that everyday should be Mother's Day, I never cease to appreciate my mother endlessly for all the uncountable deeds she has done and still continues doing in my life and that of my siblings.
Same here . Just that my mother pushed my twin out before me 😜.
Mothers deserve lot of gratitude, appreciation not just from their kids but the society at large. They truly deserve it all!!!
#Dreemerforlife.
I wish I had a mother I can celebrate all day. 😅
You're a twin? 😅 I think you mean your elder sister, right? 😂😂 Probably, you both act like twins.
Mothers truly deserve all the attention.
