I talked with my mom now and we mentioned those days, with a bit of nostalgia but with laughter too. And she said that a neighbour passed by their house today and gave her a flower, so it is still a tradition.

I'm glad that there are still these habits done honestly and naturally. Now, at least here where I live, this celebration has become like an obligation. Very profitable for florists and suffocating for teachers who receive "tons" of flowers.
