This contest is giving me a nudge on something that is long pending on my list to do. No, I have not yet written my will and nor have my hubby done it and we both have to take this up seriously and do it. We have only one Son, so by default everything goes to him, but then it is still better to do it. This I realized 4 years back when my mom's brother passed away. He had no children and he always mentioned that we all were his children, and everything that was his would be passed down to us between all of us cousins.
He passed away during Covid times and we were all away from each other in that time for a long duration. In that time, one of the neighbors got close to him and got hold of all his assets. We still cannot figure out how all of it was done. But, only if he had made a proper will and filed it, that crook person would not have been able to cheat anyone of us.
In that moment only, I told my hubby that even though if we have one son and everything by default goes to him, we should get the will done, because there are times when our loved ones are not around and a third person from outside can come and take advantage of the situation, like this man who did it with my uncle. And if you do not then you end up with court cases and unnecessary stress. In my Uncle's case, we let go off everything because we did not want to go through the court stress, as it is in that time my hubby's health was not at the best and I did not want any thing that would impact his health in any manner.
I have always liked to be the easy going type of person and never really stressed on perfection in any matter, a little bit here and there is ok for me, which applies to me in my personal life as well. For me only one thing matters which is living by my core values of honesty.
Honestly I do not have any such plans for 2025 or even for future, I just want to live life in the moment, bring each day with a smile and live my life with full integrity, mindfulness and awareness. Yes, I do have goals which I keep working towards and I keep evaluating the progress of my goals time and again.
There is nothing kind of being a perfect me concept for me. I am happy with what I am and how things are flowing for me in the current state of my life.

Having a Will for tangible assets really a priority to be done yesterday.
In our country another added is "A Living Will" wherein you are able to clearly state your last wishes of not being kept alive on equipment. This clause can save family the extreme expense of keeping a loved one in state of limbo.

Yes, we too have that, where your assets are safe with you till the time you are alive and after that passed on to the nominee. This is a better way of safeguarding your own interest
That is how it should work, making sure elderly are looked after, assets split once they are gone, according to their wishes.
