Depression nowadays doesn't have a face. We see someone smiling and laughing with their friends but they are silently battling an inner struggle. Sometimes, asking someone "How are you?" helps. There are times when our heart feels heavy and we don't always need an advice. Sometimes, we just want someone to listen to us. We just want to be heard.
And you're right, overcoming depression doesn't happen overnight. We have to take actions to it. It is a long process. And one important factor is to have a strong support system - a family or a set of genuine friends you can always count on.
