Everyone has their own definition of happiness and for me, I’ve searched long and hard for happiness in my life only to realise that you don’t find happiness, you experience it. There was a time in my life I always made things affect me. Things I couldn’t control, things I wasn’t even supposed to worry about, burdening myself the more everyday.
Searching for happiness in places we shouldn’t is something most of us tend to fall victim to. I used to wallow in my sadness for weeks and months until I came to realize that me being happy doesn’t have to depend on anyone. Whether they show up or not, I still deserve to be happy and it is from this I coined the idea that happiness is a state of mind
The mind is a very strong tool in a humans life. As they say, how a man thinketh is who he is. Whatever you make yourself believe is what you will be. If you tell yourself you are sad and your life is boring, you’d automatically find ways and means to make your life boring and sad and constantly looking for pity from others. But, when you station your mind that you are going to be happy no matter what, you find yourself being in places and rolling with people who bring you joy, people with positive energies. That’s just how the universe works.
Personally, pursing happiness sounds like a whole job to be. Instead of pursing happiness, I think I’d rather create happiness and be happy in my own little way. Being happy is something everyone of us must experience on the daily basis no matter what. You don’t have to wait for something big to happen before you’re happy. Sometimes, happiness can me found in the littlest of things and you learn to appreciate yourself and other people more in such situations.
Over the years, my whole concept about happiness has changed drastically and I’m glad to be able to be here today , sharing with you all. I hope you enjoyed reading this, thank you for your time.
