Now, it's time for women to dare to start!
I don't know how old are you, but women superheroes were pretty common for me in 90s when I used to read comic books. And why wouldn't they be?
From your examples,
Wonder woman was first appeared in comics in 1941,
Black Window first appeared in 1964,
Captain Marvel first appeared in 1968
Scarlett Witch first appeared in 1964
Wasp in your version is based on a character from 1999
Not only that, there are numerous women supervillains like Cheetah, Poison Ivy who are archvillains and they are old as well.
So I don't know what the hell you're talking about when you say
Usually, superhero characters are always synonymous with men/male.
Mulan is not a traditional superhero. She doesn't have any superpowers. But she is a badass protagonist with fighting skills. Such a character is also not new.
Everybody remembers Sigourney Weaver as Ripley from 1979 Alien movie and in the subsequent franchise. Same goes for Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor in Terminator series.
These are not random exceptions, these are iconic characters from the 80s and 90s.
You make it sound like badass women protagonists and superheroes are appearing only recently, which is very wrong.
thanks for your correction
