Hive and Me + What I like most about Hive. - Contest #227

My Hive journey

I joined Hive long ago, but at that time, I was not too serious about it. To be honest, it seemed complicated to me, and I never believed I could earn something from there. Gradually, I lost my interest.

Time went by, life wrapped me in other things, and slowly, I forgot about Hive.

  • I found Hive from YouTube. 4 years back, I was looking for "how to earn money by blogging." You know, the generic search results. Many things came up, and a few videos later, I found one that was talking about Hive, Steemit, PublishOX, etc.

  • After searching for a few days, Hive seemed like a place where I could land. I started posting and engaging, but it seemed impossible to catch up and get attention. I lost interest after a few months, thinking this place was not for me.

  • Last year, when the BTC price was up, Hive caught my attention, too, and it reminded me that I have an account there. So silly... I started scrolling again and gained interest in some communities. I'm going through some financial struggles as well, and I'm taking a chance on Hive to see if I can do something here to make a change in my life.

There is no filter for accepting that the monetary side is one of the big motivations for me to resume my Hive journey. Nevertheless, I realized it's a powerful tool to have a profile outside traditional social media where I can share. This time, I'm determined to stick around.

What I like most about Hive

The community.
People's interactions feel genuine.
I can earn without investing any money.
I can express, write, and share.
The discord communication.
Ladies of the hive, they are supportive.
How people support each other.
Appreciation for the effort.
Connecting with people around the world.
Seeing life through words.
Easy to understand and start compared to other platforms.

There are many more. Hive gives me a positive vibe. I have checked other similar platforms but the rules took my interest away. Because doing a 9-5 job and being active in multiple places is not an easy task. I can't do more here because of the fact.

I wouldn't lie, I sometimes feel frustrated. That's temporary. I gain confidence writing regularly and am determined to improve my posts, engagement, etc.

That's my answer to the questions asked for this week's contest. If you like to join us ladies, find the post here - https://ecency.com/hive-124452/@ladiesofhive/ladies-of-hive-community-contest-227

Your Hive journey is such a relatable and inspiring story, @peacefulsoul! It’s amazing how life led you back to something that, at first, seemed overwhelming, but now feels like an opportunity filled with potential. It’s okay that the monetary aspect is a big motivator—who doesn’t love getting rewarded for sharing their voice and creativity, right? But it sounds like what truly keeps you around is the community and the genuine interactions you’ve found there.

I love how you’re embracing the platform this time with a fresh perspective, even while juggling a 9-to-5 job. The fact that Hive gives you the space to connect, share, and express yourself without requiring an upfront investment is such a game-changer. And those little wins, like improving your writing and seeing the appreciation from others, are surely building momentum.

Frustration is natural, especially when you’re trying to grow, but it’s temporary—like you said. You’re determined, and that’s what matters most. Keep pushing forward, and who knows what amazing connections or opportunities will unfold as you keep sharing and engaging on Hive!

It's really powerful how this platform influences. Once what I found difficult to understand and fit it, now feels a lot easier.

Everything needs time; I didn't give it back then, and now I'm trying my best to do that.

It's the people like you, who keep inspiring newbies to stick around, in a place where I'm nobody.
