When I read @nkemakonam89 post on this prompt, believe me, I was skeptical to write mine because boy oh boy! The incident are like brothers and sisters π I mean, they are similar incident, but I have got to share mine anyways.
Before I spill the beans, let's quickly take a look at what the prompt says; Make us smile!!! Tell us a funny anecdote that happened to you. Sometimes laughing at yourself can be the best solution to get out of uncomfortable situations! π
I have had a lot of scenes that made me laugh at myself, infact it made other people laughed at me too. And some point, it made others frown at me. But really? Why frown? Has it become a crime to be real? Nah! I don't think so.
There was this day (7 years ago) my hubby took me out (sorry to say my hubby, I can't really remember what we were thenπ but it's either we were friends or dating) okay, like I said, he took me out to one of the best eatery, where I ordered rice, chicken and salad, he also ordered same which was served
But to my surprised, they brought a knife and fork (cutlery) π΄ for me to use, I looked at my tray and then looked back at me hubby how he was already using his cutlery to eat. The look on my face made him to ask me if everything was okay, I told him "no" then the village girl in could not keep calm, I asked him "don't they used spoon to eat here"? My hubby immediately read what was running through my mind so he didn't even both answering me instead, he told me "baby, just pretend and let's leave here"
Is like this guy doesn't know me oo...me pretend that I am using knife and fork to eat when I see this full chicken looking at me. Hehe! God knows the village girl in me can't pretend at such things, I immediately called the guy that served us to bring spoon and water to wash my hands π my hubby gave me a bombastic side eye but hey! At the moment, I was more concerned about how I can enjoy my chicken.
The guy was delaying to bring the spoon and at a point, I felt my husband gave him an eye contact so I had no choice than to use the cutlery.
Ladies and gentlemen, it was war π did you know the worst thing? I didn't even know how to hold or use this cutleries, my hubby took the time to teach me but the teaching wasn't entry. I was unable to pack the rice well with the fork, I was angry but I kept laughing at each step. I tried cutting the chicken with the cutlery but the chicken wasn't staying in one place on the plate.π«π
I was like "how do people use this without the meat dancing in the plates? Because my chicken kept on dancing on the plate, moving from one place to another as I was trying to cut it. I was lucky it didn't fell downπ Even with the stress of trying to use this cutlery, I kept laughing at the village girl within, even the staffs where laughing secretly (I know that)
Hehe! I got angry, stood up from my chair, and walked straight to where the staffs where, I politely asked them to give me spoon and water to wash my hands, luckily for me, they gave me and I came back to my sit smiling.
Do you know? That I ate my chicken and even broke the bones? I mean there was no piece remaining πHow on earth will I have done that with cutlery π€¦
Believe me, My hubby later joined me to use his hands to eat his chicken π what an influence.
Immediately we left the place, I couldn't hold my laughter, I boosted into laugh π€£ my hubby was like "you realize you were funny in there, right?
My reply was "Hey! I wasn't trying to be funny, I was just trying to be real, to be myself....

I prefer using normal spoon
There are definitely things I prefer with a spoon and some with a fork. I find that if you need to cut up something on your plate, a steak knife works better! Take care and have a lovely day!π€π
Looking at where I came from, I wasn't too exposed to using fork and knife π€¦ but I think I should try to use that steak knife to see....but, I am not taking chances outside, I will try it in my roomπ
